In Meetings With Anti-Pornography Group, Romney Campaign Promises To Prosecute Porn

WASHINGTON, DC ? Mitt Romney?s campaign told a leading anti-pornography group that the Republican nominee will pursue and prosecute pornography if elected president.

Three months ago, well after Romney became the presumptive Republican nominee, his campaign held multiple meetings with Morality in Media, a group which describes itself as the ?leading national organization opposing pornography and indecency,? according to executive director Dawn Hawkins. She told ThinkProgress that they had met with Alex Wong, Romney?s political director and legal policy adviser, to discuss the issue of pornography and what he would do about it if elected president.

During that meeting, Wong allegedly told Morality in Media that the campaign ?would pursue prosecutions? of pornography and that the issue is ?important to them.? The Romney campaign met with the organization ?a number of times? in the past three months, Hawkins said.

The isn?t the first time that pornography became an issue in the campaign. Romney signed Morality in Media?s pledge during the Republican primaries, promising ?strict enforcement for our nation?s obscenity laws,? calling the matter ?imperative.? In addition, the national GOP platform calls for ?vigorously? enforcing anti-pornography laws. The effort is a throwback to the Bush administration, when Attorney General John Ashcroft spent ?millions to file charges across the country? in an attempt to target ?just about everything on the Internet and almost everything in the video stores and everything in the adult bookstores.?

Though the Republican nominee may not discuss the issue on the stump, anti-pornography activists are excited about the prospect of a Romney presidency.

So Romney is against Freedom of Speech? Brilliant.

You know how this goes down. They talk loud, carry a large stick, get into office... And do nothing.

Exactly. They tell whatever group they are standing in front of whatever it is they want to hear in order to get votes. They all do it. That's politics.

And as Rochard put it, they get into office and do nothing of the sort.

No, you're wrong. They surf porn on DoD-secured internet connections and never get caught, getting addicted to porn and then assaulting young boys in the White House.

            We've seen it before...

            lol

To be a good salesman you first have to sell yourself, so you aggree to everything which the the buyer says, then you also pretend to have the same interests as the buyer such as he is a sports car fan and so are you. (You have to make this look convincing though) Now the buyer thinks you are on the same level as them, they trust you more than when they first met you.

As the buyer asks you more questions this gives you (ammo) some idea on what kinda of person they are, which you can then use to strengthen your broship with them. After the salesman has earned the buyers complete trust they believe evrything he says and the sale is aggreed. The lieing scumbag salesman walks of to the next buyer and does it all over again.

                Yes I am a salesman

Well it was a semi-facetious reference to what was referred to as "Gannongate" at the time, but also the the "call boys" scandals a few years back, as well as the Franklin affair, and all those times a Republican has been caught in a gay relationship (or whatever) cheating on his wife and all that, while espousing anti-gay view points...

The war on porn already started time ago, they just use money instead of laws as weapon. The banksters already went after sleepy, drunk, non-consensual, tentacles and lately i heard from a site owner that one of the problems they had with their bank was because of comics showing sex with robots (is bestiality now, no joke). Wonder what will be their next target after they are done with fantasy and SciFi stuff. Maybe anal?

You can't prosecute shit when you're the loser in the election.

QFT, but if you remember what a pain 'W' was; it may not just be cheap talk.

It sounds to me like a move of desperation but Robme may just flip flop to what is convenient at the moment in the future.
