It's almost to the point where you can say "if it has a label on it, dont eat it" haha. Not really. We had a small garden when I was growing up and it fed a family of 8 except for grains, meat, fish and the treats kids beg for. No need to give up before you start. If a food does not say "USDA Certified Organic" with the USDA label as so very few fruits and veggies there do, then the word "Organic" has absolutely no meaning, or could mean absolutely anything or absolutely nothing.
Marketing is about selling the idea,... the image... not the reality. Whole Foods sells the idea just as good as anyone. It's subjective and it means something different to each purchaser and there is no law restricting or controlling how they market, package and sell it. They simply use the power of suggestion, hike up prices and the idiots flock to them to pay more..
Yes, fewer illegal immigrants working equates to more job opportunities for American citizens.

Look, I understand fully that one thing doesn't have anything to do with the other. The point I am trying to make is very simple. If we're being "poisoned", by food, vaccines, the media, whatever, but still living longer then it's not a very effective posioning, is it?
Plenty of studies have found that organic food is no healthier than normal run of the mill food. You go ahead and believe what you want and keep trying to spread panic and fear but many of us are living very healthy lifes despite eating normally grown foods, consuming aspartame etc etc.

So true...there are many bullshit reasons GMO's are used...my favorite evil reason is so Monsanto can drive small farmers out of biz and further control the food supply.
We have UC Berkeley Plant Genetics among others to thank for the poisons we eat.
