WTF is up with these NIGERIAN SCAM ARTISTS??

In the last 4 months we have been getting bombarded with emails and facebook notes from people being contacted by people pretending to be Anna, using her pics and even some recorded cam shows to lure people into sending them money! And people actually fall for this! We had a guy write who said he sent the "girl" 4,000 so she can get her passport as she promised to go marry him! He said they spoke for a few months on skype and he saw her on video (they were using prerecorded feeds)

We had another story about someone pretending to be Anna claiming she was injured and is in a hospital in Ghana and she needs money!

Another saying she needs money for food!

Wtf is going on here and does this happen to you guys at all?

My questions are one, how can people actually fall for this?

And two, how the hell do you stop this one?

Ann Angel has been online for a long time yes, but this is the first time we have come across her identity being stolen and used like this. And in a short period of time too. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this similar thing.

Should we be contacting the police or FBI or something? I don't even know where to begin with this.... All these people are asking us to do something and blaming us for ruining their lives......Wtf can we do?

Look at your server and block the IP. Or change your email and then forward those emails to somebody you don't really like.

You can always block emails from a certain IP block as well.

The American authorities will not and probably could not do anything and the Nigerian authorities are probably funding the 'venture'.

I was going to say put a notice on your site, but then noticed you already have. That is about I think.

i've had several poor suckers contact me who've been duped into sending thousands of dollars by scammers using photos of Dawson Miller to represent themselves. very sad stories, lonely men who want to believe a beautiful young girl loves and needs them.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Unfortunately there are lots of people out there who are so lonely that they will drop everything because a pretty girl pays attention to them, even if that pretty girl isn't real.

A friend of mine who is very socially awkward, late 40's, lives alone etc, "met" a "girl" online, and has been sending her money for years. She's never met him and never even talked to him by phone.

I've tried to tell him he's being scammed but he won't hear it. "She keeps losing her passport". "Her parents won't let her love a Canadian". "She's can't pay her phone bill". "Her father abuses her". It just goes on and on.

They are very notorious for using well known pornstars to lure money out of old dudes with too much. Raven Riley for instance was used as a figure to gaffle a ton of money.
