    NYC peeps

    if I was going to NYC for a few days, would it be a massive error to stay in Brooklyn?

    I've found a lovely apartment to rent, that is a good price, but is in Brookyn. I've only been there once, to go to the botanical gardens. It seemed fine, but what do I know.

    Any views from those that know would be appreciated.

      When I was there in November I used Hotwire and found a 4 star hotel midtown for like $150 a night or something. Was nice and central. I don't know if I'd stay in Brooklyn to be honest.

          see how far is it from the city and what trains are there near by on google maps.
          overall it's not so bad even from far into Brooklyn you can get to the city within 30-40minutes by train

                  I think you would have to narrow it down a little, even Brooklyn is a pretty big place with lots of neighborhoods, good, bad and ugly. Where are you talking about?
                  i.e.
                  Brooklyn Heights, beautiful
                  Fort Green, a little scary
