I'm thinking of incorporating some sponsor flvs into my blogs using a player and linking to the clips provided. Is this a good or bad idea? Or would you recommend just uploading a pic and linking out to a gallery instead like im doing now?

IMHO Flash videos are useless in the current state of play. Nobody can watch them on an iPad, the Flash installed userbase shrinks every day.
Flash should be deprecated from existing sites over time and replaced with HTML5 or MP4.
Hosting videos on your own site is always better in any case. -

And sponsors should use ONLY mp4. It can be played on any flash player and also on any smartphobe or tablet.
