GOP Anti-Porn Plank Added To Draft Platform By Republican Committee

The GOP platform committee has included a plank in this year's draft document calling for "vigorous" enforcement of anti-pornography laws.

In a press release Monday from Morality in Media, a faith-based non-profit, President Patrick Trueman, a former anti-porn prosecutor, calls the current distribution of pornography "a violation of current federal law" and lauds Republicans for approving stricter new wording:

The republican party is moving back to the far right. They know Romney is weak with the base so they are trying to play to the base in order to get them to vote. Every republican candidate promises this. If he wins we will just have to wait and see if he plans to follow through.

Then , they could prevent abortions, to later deny all services/rights to a porn-baby

There is one little problem with this theory. Manwin produces some pretty mainstream stuff. It is going to be pretty difficult to convict them of obscenity. Most convictions that they get come from the defendant giving up and coping a plea. Manwin has the cash to fight so you know they will do just that.

With each passing year porn becomes more and more mainstream and it becomes harder and harder to get rid of. If anything I think they will go after some of the more extreme stuff that is out there. Most of those who get busted for obscenity are doing some pretty out there stuff. Those will likely be the first targets in any kind of porn crackdown.

The last thing they would want is a long, drawn out battle that they lose which will do nothing but give their critics ammo to use against them.

Yes, Manwin does produce "mainstream stuff" as well as edgy stuff. I'm not saying they will put Manwin out of business. As with most obscenity cases the government wants to win by bankruptcy/cash depletion or get you to plea guilty to some other charge, make you pay the court cost and declare some victory. They just want to be a pain in your ass. Playboy, Hustler, VCA, Evil Angel, etc. went through the process. Romney just needs to drag Manwin through the process even if he does not finish the job. He needs to show effort to satisfy "his base". It's about politics.

The GOP is fucked in the head. Outlaw porn, outlaw abortion, make birth control inaccessible to those who need it most. That way men, instead of jacking off, can go out and "legitimately" rape women and her body will just shut the whole thing down - or she can can just be forced to give birth to a rapist's demon seed.

Cool, we'll also see a rise in STDs, AIDS, and even more unwanted kids - but who cares as long as we're protecting "religious freedom".

The Republicans will also protect you by outlawing medical marijuana for terminally ill cancer patients and others in pain, make sure kids are forced to pray in school in violation of The Constitution, and take away the few rights gays have gained in recent years.

But....and this is the really cool part....they'll make sure you have the right to easy access to assault rifles to mass murder with. Okay, that makes sense.

GOP is just playing to their base, like so many above have said. From the current polls which will change a million times depending on the sponsor, lol, the Mitts in a dead heat with Barack and could just win this thing.

I expect Obama to next offer amnesty and give everyone the right to vote, two, maybe 3 times.

Mitt will offer a fireworks show and free magic underwear for everyone.
