    Just discovered Sponsor Chat

    I must say that it's a great resource. Apparently it's a pretty old site too, but I never heard about it until now.

    Looks like a busy place with a lot of business discussion. It's quite refreshing to see something like this when the industry is in decline and the overall quality of webmaster discussions is lacking, to say the least.

                          He's always paid me for everything with no bs ever. I've heard both sides of a few stories and seen some ICQs from the 'scams' that people are talking about and those just butthurt webmasters trying to make him look bad.

                              I dont know who runs it or who the butcher is. I was just positively surprised by the amount of quality, business related discussions.

                              Also, i didnt break any rules, to my knowledge (didnt link anything). I thought that starting an industry-related discussion would be more welcome than another news repost from DVTimes.

                                                      How? If they don't like the prices, that's not scamming and ads are meant for exposure, not for guaranteed affiliate signups or sales. More people scam him by not paying if anything..

                                                                                                              A company I was working for had bought advertising on GFY and over at the Pond back when it was still pretty active and the butcher approached me on ICQ to advertise over on that forum. He stated he was the top wm forum on line with more activity that GFY and the pond combined. I could check Alexa and see the stats for his traffic....

                                                                                                              We respectfully declined and he offered us a fantastic deal, you see one of his other advertisers had pulled their advertising or did not pay him... Not sure which but one of those, and he could offer us a great deal if we jumped on it like right now.

                                                                                                              Again we respectfully declined and I thought that was the end of it.... Little did I know.

                                                                                                              A few weeks later an affiliate of the program I was working for and a very good friend of mine were chatting and the topic of advertising on boards came up. He knew we were advertising on a couple of boards and I mentioned the other boards we had looked at as well. Then he tells me that the butcher had told him he should not promote our company because we were broke LOL he said the company could not afford a dollar for advertising etc etc....right, we were advertising on two of the biggest boards at the time but we could not afford ads on SC

                                                                                                              Forever altered the way I viewed the guy and any business he does. Over the years I have been asked about SC and always recommend avoiding that forum. If you like it and you find it useful then by all means continue to visit there. You just won't see my nick darkening their doorstep and if someone does post there as spazlabz it is not me.
