XBIZ Miami??? Any Summer Internext news?

Received the email on the XBIZ Miami Summit in May. Haven't seen any threads on it yet.

I have heard AVN will be doing something 'different' for their Summer show this year. Any updates? Back in South Florida? Only would go to one East Coast show this year and don't want to plan for XBIZ if Summer Internext is happening. AVN put on a great Vegas show and in years past Summer Internext was always my fav.

I heard Internext was going to be in South Florida and the announcement should be coming "a few weeks after the vegas show"

I think Xbiz beat them to the punch on a Miami show, but the timing for both shows would be perfect in May/June.

I remember them saying they would announce it in a few weeks however I was hoping they were going to speed up that time table once XBIZ announced their schedule. I would think the majority of people will choose only 1 South Florida show.

Well, as someone from the left coast, most likely. But I would much prefer FL in the spring over August.

Xbiz Miami May 15-18 is free to register. I'm local so it's a no brainer for me to drive down to South Beach. I don't really like the timing of it so close to the Phoenix Forum only two weeks before. I liked having the summer Internext in August not for the weather but due to the fact that it was spaced out to the third quarter of the year when there aren't so many American trade shows.

As it stands now the beginning of the year is too heavy with conventions in January (Internext/AVN), March/April (Phoenix) and then May (XBiz). I'm still on antibiotics recovering from Internext and AVN in Las Vegas and still following up on work and business from the Vegas shows and meanwhile the registration is open and the rooms for Phoenix are already sold out. I'm kind of burnt out on shows at the moment and not all that motivated to make new travel plans so quickly. I probably going to skip the Phoenix Forum as much as I love it and just hit XBiz Miami instead.

I absolutely hated the August date and humidity. However, I did prefer the show in the 3rd quarter... or later in the year for the exact same reason. It kind of broke up, or spaced out, the conferences so you could get some work done in between.

The beginning of the year simply has too many conferences back to back to back. You almost need to hire someone to do nothing but go to conferences, especially in the month of Jan. just to get a presence at them all.

I always loved the August date. Humid as hell but it's not like we have to wear suits. Throw on a bathing suit and get a drink by the pool. I was really hoping for roughly the same dates this year. Dodgers play Miami in their new stadium that weekend.

While we're on the subject of shows. Since AVN now controls Webmaster access and if the rumor holds true, the parent company controls Playboy's digital properties...

How about bringing back the Webmaster Access LA show and the PJ and Lingerie party at the Mansion. That was always a highlight.

Well for us common folk who don't hobnob with the best of the best I always enjoyed the Mansion parties.

Walk the grounds, open bar, game room and tons of hot coeds/playmates. Plus it's been a couple of years. I say bring it back in Summer and make it a Pool/BBQ party. Get out the slip n slide.

Kudos to AVN and Xbiz for the great events they have been putting on. I do wish they would all (not just xbiz and avn but andreas, michael and anyone else doing these shows), get together all together and work out the dates so things are not so close together. No sense in having 2 similar shows a week apart in January and at other times and then leaving the 4th quarter of the year empty...

That's my 2¢

They should work together so they can all do their shows
