Incredible.

My question if it's not too late: Why do you prefer JW Player over Flow Player?

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
I did have a chuckle on that!

So, you get a late answer....

I love jw cos of its simplicity. I hate fp cos it has too many includes. Because of FP's includes, it is simple, but for what I do, it ends up complicated - for example, to have a secure token, I have to edit the rtmp plugin. To have overlays, I have to hack the source. To have the moving custom string, I have to hack the core + the ???? forget what it's called right off hand. In jw, I simply hack max 3 lines of code.

Plus - and this is my big gripe, a securely encrypted player - those plugins I mentioned, cannot be encrypted or else the source cannot include them correctly.

So, yes, you can have a player that does those things, but with more headache to me, and less security to you.

For that, I fully recommend JW.

Then again.... FP allows me to buy a license to distribute, whereas JW forces you to buy....
bleh.

I'm only using it do so simple repetitive stuff a few hundred times a day don't really want to have to learn to use something complicated. Just every now and then I'll want it to be able to do something that looks easy, but turns out that I get stuck with what to write to do it.

An evening (with friends or family of course) w/o electricity is damn fun!
You get right back to the drwaing board and say "ok, so now what?" - frikken amazing what people can come up with to amuse themselves.... For some reason, no electricity means it's as if the whole world turned on end and it's a new game to play.... yet of course, it's the exact same "game", just a diff perspective. I think all that changes is the topic of conversation - that plus people become more riské
