    Thanks to all of you guys who were sending letters to paypal this week, I know many did and them disabling oron account shows the power of the community which we all grossly underestimate.

    I don't know for how long this ban will last, but today is the great day for all of us anyway

                          I never had much of a problem with megaupload specifically, but the ripple effect on the other fileshare sites brought us one of our best weeks ever this week. For 3-4 days after MU went down, I did not have to send a single DMCA. The pirates are starting to push back now, though. They are all scrambling to find fileshares who ignore DMCA.

                          One of them wrote today in response to how quickly I've been able to our latest updates taken down, "The French host partage-facile.com doesn't seem to respond to any DMCA takedown requests."

                          This was a host, I have not had to deal with, yet, so will be interesting to see how this plays out.

                                          While I don't want to be negative about the situation as it's a good one but what percent of their transactions do you think are via paypal and how many of those couldn't use their credit card instead?

                                          For some reason, I tend to think the percentage is extremely low but I could be wrong and I hope I am. If they don't have access to a credit card, they wouldn't even be potential paysite subscribers

So anyone who has a credit card, purchase an account at Oron and then complain to your bank about the charge, say that you thought you were paying for downloads of Walt Disney cartoons for your kids but ended up being confronted with scat and bestiality porn :-)

                                                          For european hosts, don't send DMCA's. That's an american law and doesn't apply here. Look up EUCD.

                                                                                  Lets' hope it stays down. Slashed revenue, huge bandwidth bill, if they don't get reinstated there is no way they can keep paying affiliates as much as they have, they're fucked

                                                                                      Actually a lot since majority or people will never risk exposing their CC info to some cheeky host full of pirated stuff. Would you risk your own CC there when you have PP option?
                                                                                      A lot of lost rebills for Oron, not sure if they will be able to handle such loss.

                                                                                          Don't underestimate the stupidty of people. People are really stupid, unsavvy and will enter their CC details anywhere.

                                                                                          On top of that, a lot of people have their CC tied into their Paypal account so it can still be directly charged.

Quite a bit of them have faux forms and pages up that look like they are there for legit purposes, but if you actually try to send something they ignore it, or the form doesn't work...
