They are coming out here as well. The Kool and the Gang combo struck me as odd. I saw them a few times back in the day I will take a pass on that show.

Listen to me carefully: I will not tell you how to make money in this business and I won't give you a Fucking Link to a sponsor so I can make 5% of nothing....get yourself a Fucking Plan, stick to it, don't be a Lazy Bitch, and you will make money!
Talk about coming full circle in the biz.... Eddie Van Halen actually married the former Head of PR for Metrointeractive, she was there for over 3 years. She went from doing to PR work for 30K a year handling Ann Marie Rios, Kelly Erikson, Ron Jeremy and Digital Underground (Sex & The Studio) to now being married to Eddie Van Halen!!! Bravo.

I wouldn't pay $800 for Van Halen when they were good .... I'm certainly not going to pay it now!! LMAO
A Different Kind of Truth = Regurgitated 1976 Gene Simmons demo tape
It sucked back then ... and still sucks 35 years later!!!!
yeah thats for one of the packages where you get supper and meet them backstage, blah blah. still a rip off but its not just tickets. the first 15 or so rows are reserved for that and amex presales. i got 18th row on the floor in ottawa for 150 a piece though the venue presale.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..
Hell, what is wrong with it? Is everyone so close-minded that they can't enjoy the possibility of both being great shows and that it might make a great combination just for the fact that it is so diverse?
The late Bill Graham used to throw shows that would feature all sorts of different music, jazz, rock, even classical or world music before it was categorized as such. That was the idea. To expose yourself to new stuff, to open your mind, to enjoy the expression of the genius of creativity in music, theatre, art!
Wtf... am I the only hippie here that thinks that could be a mindbendingly awesome show or what? I have heard both live and they are capable of pure juice jam.
Why does everything have to fit into some sort of presciption for categorizing that just closes one off to things?

Yeah Diamond Dave needs cash for his golden years, and Eddie's SON is now playing bass since they kicked out Michael Anthony few years ago.
I grew up with my father going to house parties where VH was playing in Pasadena.
They were an awesome band. But those two assholes Eddie and Dave fought for years and years. I knew people who worked for them and hung out with them. Assholes. lol
They have nothing else in their pathetic lives other than Van Halen and need the money badly it seems. That tattoo song is pure trash.
I can't wait til they start the tour and we hear about the drama. I'll be surprised if they make it through all the dates! I'm calling this here and now. LOL

It's just that the moods these bands induce with their music are totally different. Kool and the Gang is funky, and can be a good show. But then Van Halen is classic rock. And a whole different crowd listens to them vs. KntG.
I wouldn't even dress the same going to those two shows. heh
...and if I were to go see them, which I wouldn't in these big arenas I don't really do... I would only go to see Diamond Dave. That might be worth an overpriced ticket. lol

I'd go see Kool and The Gang, if they were playing with the Gap Band, although I wouldnt go to the MGM and fight the crowd to see them. But a smaller place, like The Joint, yeah that would be great.
I'd go see Van Halen even with their horrible new song, if they were playing with someone like Slash, Aerosmith, etc. I would even go to the MGM for that. But to go to the MGM for Van Halen and Kool and the Gang, its not happening for me. I dont like either band enough for that. But if they were at the Orleans Arena or The Palms, sure.
Last band I saw at the MGM was AC/DC and I couldnt wait to get out of there. I hate large venues, so it has to be a killer show put together to get me to go to one.
