Can you recommend decent WP plugin that would collect data similar to that of Google Analytics but would be locally run and stored, not going through some third party server, while at the same time not being too heavy on local server's resources? Does any such thing exist?

Why not just install a Analytics Plugin for wordpress,
alter your tracking id in your wp admin panel, and be done with it ?

Some people are smart enough that they don't send data to Google unnecessarily. Only lazy, inept and/or stupid people still use analytics.
