If money were all it took for an idea to take off then it's not a very good idea. Everyone's got money.

I have a small mainstream business that I have been testing out and so far, very profitable. Been seeking investors for expansion, otherwise will take to long to grow without funding.

If you want to know more, email me - link in sig . Have a record of growing successful businesses in the past, one of which was sold for $3mm two years ago. Side note, my partner screwed me on the deal and I got a whopping $28k out of it.

Ideas are not good to invest in, unless you like to gamble. Most businesses, like another one I am starting requires funding to setup a number of things such as design, marketing, hiring sales staff and buying phones, etc.

I have an idea I've been working on for over a year. The hold up... $$$$$
Takes money to make money if you want to do it right. I've tried a dozen times to start up different things just by busting my ass. But the failure has always taken me back to it takes money to make money.

In less than an hour and a half?

For what it's worth, I may be looking to take on investment money again for buying/selling domains. The last time I did was a GFYer and I made him 30% on his money in a month. Was a nice little experiment.

Once I passed up an opportunity to buy a domain. It cost over $100k and at the time I only had about $20k liquid and could only maybe rake together $50k at most if I really strained resources.

Someone else pounced on the opportunity and sold the domain less than 4 months later for a million dollars. If an investor was part of that deal, they'd have made a nice killing without even having to sniff a deal like that out (and it wasn't easy to sniff out, trust me).

In other words, sometimes money really is all that's needed. That wasn't the only opportunity like that I had to pass up due to lack of funds available.

It depends on the funds you have. If you have significant funds, look at bizbuysell, the wall street journal biz site. Lots to be had on there at 2 to 3 times cash flow.

If you are talking 20 to 50k, join a group to buy an NYC taxi medallion.
