you can buy a house, the same type of American dream home we always hear about in the post WWII boom era - in many American cities, detached small homes, many with in ground pools in the yard for between 100-150K, cities like Orlando, Florida, Phoenix,Las Vegas - there are tons of small cities and towns across the Midwest with houses for even less. air travel in the US is dirt cheap, as are hotels now - anybody with a decent job or business of their own can afford a getaway vacation. big screen TV's are cheap, computers are cheap, internet access is cheap.

I've been to America so many times and visited there since 1980ish. Great place to visit, NY, LV and San Francisco are two of my favorite places in the world. Mid West, like Monument Valley area is great. Just wouldn't choose to live there. The only reason I wouldn't work there is the girls I met were a put off with their attitude. Still maybe I will make another visit one day.

If you are talking about America (both North and South continents) as a place on the Earth, it's definitely fucking great! But only as a geographic place. Local laws and politics look awful for an a European guy, but the people there also make the picture. The uncovered racism and police violence just bury any hope to be there again.
