				How do you stay motivated?
Without the need to earn money? I'm finding it very hard recently to stay motivated. OK my health isn't good and I do sleep a lot. Walking the dog is about as much as I can manage physically, but actually working online takes little physically. I cook, read, jigsaws, watch documentaries on the TV, check my daughters homework as we're not meant to help her and a few other things. In the spring and summer I will paint the house. But I just can't get motivated to work. Have 2 E Books I could write and make money, could do the review site and even have a little part time job I do here from home. More for the fun than the money. I could turn it into a real business. But without the need to earn money, I just can't get going and stay going. I always wondered why people like Dave Sullivan, David Gold and Paul Raymond stated motivated to work hard when they obviously had so much money and no need to work. So if you don't have to work how do you stay motivated? I'm going to watch TV. While you guys figure it out for me. |

				 | I think setting a goal helps. I technically don't need to work any more when I sold my main business and paid off my mortgage a couple of years ago. But when I see people who I think are less talented than me buying their second and third home, I get motivated to work harder. I have set a 5 year goal for my self, I am in the second year of the 5 year goal. If you can set some goals, and a time limit for achieving the goal, it could help. Good luck |

				 | I watched a program on TV some years ago about ten aged and extremely wealthy people who were still active in their various fields. To a man all agreed that monetary gain had never been a driving interest in their lives. They all became active in their various fields because they had an interest in their fields and enjoyed the time they put into their work. That their endeavors made them wealthy was just a by product of their endeavors and had never been a goal...as witnessed by the fact that they were far beyond an age to retire and had the wealth to retire for many years past...but yet they remained active in their fields.

				 | If you don't need money anymore why don't you ride off into the sunset and enjoy life. Travel, volunteer and help less fortunate, sit on the beach all day and drink fruity drinks. If you don't need money and you can't stay motivated what is the point of this thread?

				 | Paul the symptoms you descibe could be a under the radar case of depression. Many, many people are clinicaly depressed and do not even know it. Depression can leave you exhausted, so all you want to do is sleep. with little or no motivation. Even answering the phone can be a chore. Of course a lot of it could be residual from your illness. Not saying you are , just saying......Check into it Wish you all the best. Marianne |

				 | Setting very specific, measurable, short and long term goals is one of the few things that have helped my motivation. That certainly seems to be true of people who get very rich or famous. That powerful want of more seems to be the common thread among most everyone who is hugely successful financially. It comes at a very high price though; once you get that powerful desire for more and more, you're unsatisfied even with ten million dollars. People make twenty million because ten million wasn't enough, they were still hungry for more. It turns out twenty million isn't enough either, so they live their lives hungry, never satisfied, never having enough. They only appear rich from the outside, but don't feel it. They also normally miss out on things that are vastly more satisfying than money. It's a high price to pay. For me, I'd rather set clearly achievable goals to be financially sound, enough to comfortably pay the mortgage on a modest home and then enjoy the peace of mind and sense of achievement.

				 | Perhaps if you don't really need the money, think about a higher goal. For me, it's helping young people who want to get off and alcohol and drugs. Other people become passionate about other causes. Try some things on for size and see what gets you juiced up. You may not know right now which cause will fire you up, but I very you can find one. Put some energy and some money into whatever ignites some passion in you. Think about what you could do to help ________ if you had $100,000 to spend, or if you spent 10 hours per week working for the thing you believe in.

				 | I guess the problem is you don't need the money as you've retired. Maybe find another hobby instead of porn? I'm sure schools will need people to help with reading, that wouldn't be too strenuous and be very rewarding. Or any local charity always needs volunteers. A dog rescue place maybe? Find something that makes you smile instead of getting annoyed by idiots in porn! |

				 | Paul is this not just due to winter? It's natural to be more tired and sleep more during winter. And at least you can sleep, I'm often tired and cannot sleep, that's horrible. Anyway if you're tired physically, nothing can motivate you, you need to get rid of the physical tiredness first. So sleep as much as you can, till you start to feel better. |
