Asian market, who's going for it?

I hear that the east asian customer base is still a goldmine to be dipped into. Real potential?

Who here has asian versions (translations) of thier sites? Are you getting any asian SE traffic?

I hear guys like 99bb make a fortune... I remember quiet's thread from a few months ago, just wanted to bring the topic back to life.

I have 3 asian domains I'm planning to turn into paysites. I'm a bit too busy right now with my current stuff, but hopefully I'll have them up and running in the next few months.

I am a little confused about the whole asian market... I mean, what are they looking for in content -- white, black or indeed asian?... If they were looking for white content then it would just be a matter of translating your website...

So does anyone have any idea... do asians look for asian content?

In the last 3 weeks alone we have just finished translating around 20 paysites into a variety of the Asian languages including Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Sri-Lankan with more work being done as i type.

The sponsors are realizing to grow their profits they do indeed need to be looking out of the USA for money and, with the rapidly expanding European / Asia Pacific markets this makes good business sense.

I think a LOT of the sponsors will start to take heed of this impending global boom as their sites become more and more saturated tot he English speaking surfer.

Again, on the same subject, Geo-Targeting is a huge buzz word of late and, again this is something that as a company GA Media is actively participating in, in fact, we will shortly have a new site online which will enable not only webmasters but sponsors to be be more 'specific' on who see's their advertising materials.

Take our foreign markting site http://www.europeanwebmasters.com the site has been online little over 18 months now and, its only really in the last 6 that the traffic has started to grow more and more due tot he fact that a lot of what where once conceived as third-world countrys are becoming more and more adult orientated in fact a lot of sponsors, http://www.4bigcash.com , http://www.xxxmoney.com , to name a couple are based OUTSIDE of the US.

The one main problem that will however be encountered is billing, many people still look towards dialers as a revenue stream for 'foreign' surfers and, quite frankly, that is such a waste of a surfer, people in Europe DO hold credit cards afterall, you dont htink they head into their local store every week and pay with a dilaer do you?

The Japanese are very loyal, and like I said in another post, if they like what they are seeing and get the support they need, they stay for 6 months +.

It is not as easy as translating a few sites into certain languages and having the members area in English. a) you have duped your member and unless he is seeing some shit hot content, he is going to be out of there as soon as possible. b) You need support in those languages. Admittedly some speak English, but are Asian support staff are very busy all day helping our customers. c) Having contacts in Asia. Knowing where to place banners, which Affiliates bring in the most $$.

Its the same in any market. 99bb.com is relatively new in the West and us getting recognised can prove quite difficult. I see in the future cross country Partnerships developing, however it is the Western sites that will have more to gain.

Regarding the Chinese Market, even though China has probably the greatest potential, at present they do not want to buy porn. OK, we do get a few sign ups, but with well over 100,000 visiting the site a day, our sign ups are pretty poor to say the least.

The Koreans rock as do the Japanese.

Billing is not a problem. We offer Credit card billing to the Japanese and it works a dream. Charge backs are very low, and I mean very low

Whats the largest after English ? (I assume English is the biggest)

The members area of the site AND the billing solution you use is just as if not, more important than the tour pages themselves, kind of like sending an english speaker to a German porn site members area LOL
