Richard Cordray Nomination: Obama Using Recess Appointment Amid GOP Opposition

In a bold move sure to infuriate Republicans and possibly draw a court challenge, President Barack Obama announced Wednesday that he will use his executive power to bypass Congress and put Richard Cordray in charge at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The move is a rare instance of the president invoking his authority to override a months-long effort by Senate Republicans to block Cordray. They rejected his confirmation in a December vote and reiterated that, even though they like Cordray, they would keep opposing him or any other CFPB nominee until changes are made at the agency. Obama's recess appointment on Wednesday trumps their effort.

Recess appointments are common that's for sure.
What you're missing is. Congress is NOT on recess. Clinton had drawn up a rule that Congress needed to be at Recess for a minimum of 3 day for him to be able to appoint a "recess appointment"
Prior to Clinton is was a 10 day rule.
The thing that's pissing off congress is Obama made this "recess appointment when congress was just in session the day before he made this appointment.
He didn't follow the 3 day rule, and congress technically isn't at recess. Congress is still in session.
This seems pretty clear to me that Obama is going to do exactly what Obama wants and the congress can kiss the fattest part of his ass as far as he's concerned.

Appearance on Jeopardy!
Cordray has the distinction of being an undefeated five-time champion and Tournament of Champions semifinalist on Jeopardy![101] In 1987, he won $45,303 from the show, which he used to pay law school debt, to pay taxes and to buy a used car.[102] The total winnings came from $40,303 in prize money during his five-contest streak and $5,000 for a first round win on the Tournament of Champions.[103] His campaign for public office in 1990 precluded him from participating in the Super Jeopardy! elimination tournament of champions.[104] ABC, the network that carried the show, had a policy against political contestants appearing on the show (excluding Celebrity Jeopardy!).[102]Comment

H.W. was a 4 year President.
Let's break it down then for comparison:
Obama - 29 / 3 years = 9.66 per year
George W. Bush - 171 / 8 years = 21.375 per year
Clinton - 140 / 8 years = 17.5 per year
George H.W. Bush - 77 / 4 years = 19.25 per year
Reagan - 240 / 8 years = 30 per year.
I think the point being made by the OP stands.

Obama isn't done yet, no to mention the fact these recent appointments happened while Congress was NOT in recess. Obama broke the law

Given that Obama is currently serving as President, I broke the appointments down in the best and most accurate way for comparison.
I was not commenting on the legality of any of the appointments, just the numbers as they were presented, mainly in response to someone complaining that it's Obama's 3 year numbers vs. longer serving Presidents.Online strip gaming with sexy gamer girls
