I know I should probably see an accountant for this. But a few quick questions, if anybody has any idea (since you're all in the same boat as I am). All my $ is from companies like FreeEzineBucks, Cyberfuse (Adult Plex), EZGreen (former Adult Plex), EmailBucks, Dollar Machine, etc. Am I considered "self-employed" and have to pay the 15.3% self-employment tax?
I view myself as a private contractor, contracting myself out to these companies, so I'm not really self-employed. Just trying to see what all taxes I'll have to pay.
As far as I know:
- a set % for federal tax (depending on what bracket I fall in after I calculate taxable income).
- a set state tax (3.0% right now for ohio)
Any others I should know of? Will I have to may medicare, medicaid, or anything like that? I had absolutely nothing witheld (as I'm sure a lot of you are in the same boat) so federal tax is going to be a bitch. I think that'll be the main hit?
