Some would say that having Obama in Washington costs a hell of a lot more than the $4 million each vacation costs. Let's see, he increased spending by what, $400 billion per year? So a little over a billion dollars per day. Having him on vacation, away from Washington, for a week saves us about $7 billion, then, if you look at it that way.

When I was growing up...who would have ever thought the govt. would spend ONE BILLION dollars a day? Much less have a president INCREASE it by 1 billion a day!

The majority of the cost for any president to travel is Air Force 1 which is about $3.2 million for the trip to Hawaii. What would you suggest, he take the Greyhound bus? The police can detain you at any time for nearly any reason or no reason at all. I believe they can hold you for 24 hours without charging you, maybe longer. The US military can do that too, being as they have their own military police and CID / NCIS, etc.
