What is your understanding of "teen"?

I was having a discussion today with someone new to the industry. We had a long discussion on what a "teen" site should look like. He is convinced that a young girl 18-22 yrs old in sexy outfits can sell as "teen".

What do you expect from a site that includes the word "teen" in its domain name, or advertises as "teen sex", etc?
What do you expect the models to look like?
What do you think porn surfers look for when they search for "teen"?

Is a young beautiful girl between 19-20 years old looking like she's dressed to go out on a Saturday night still sells as a "teen"? or by "teen" buyers expect lollipops, pigtails, high-school skirt, sucking a thumb,...?

I consider a "teen" an annoying person that no grown man would give the time of day to. I have a twenty-two year old daughter and a twenty-one year old son. Any attraction I might have had towards teens died a long time ago.

When I see a teen site I think, "Shit... that kid's my daughter's age!" and I start feeling sick to my stomach.

You asked - but you don't have to appreciate it.

Teen = 13 to 19 by true definition.

In adult 18 to 19, anything older is a lie and fraud to the members who pay to view teens.

I agree 18-19 but really depends on their look and how u market them. some gilrs are 28 and look like a teen, some are 18 and look 24...

Preschoolers suck their thumbs and lollipops. That sounds like a different niche, called "adult baby". Emma Watson is a teen, as is Kristen Stewart, of Twilight fame.

I think "teen" means young, fresh, and natural. I think someone searching "teen" is trying to avoid plastic. Jenna Jameson is a perfect example. For her first couple of years she was young, fresh, natural. Then she had all that plastic surgery and became "plastic porn star" which is the opposite of "teen" and what the "teen" fans are trying to avoid.

It depends on what the girl looks like. Had some great girls who sold everywhere as "teens" who were 20-22. Had some 18 year old's I couldn't give away as teens.

As for being a fraud. Porn is sold as a fraud for the real thing all the time. It's an act.

If you do a google search for teen porn, you will find most images are of small, slinky girls with small tits. Some with pigtails some without.

The middle one comes closest, but any and all of the models could probably work with different hair and makeup. Less of a glamour look, I guess. Not an amateur look, necesarily, but not the supermodel, heavy makeup, fancy hair either. Hustler's "Barely Legal" does the niche well, I think.

I just did some work with a "teen" last week and in talking to her she turned out to be 29 years old. I have to say it blew me away that this girl really looked 18. I am usually hired for the old man/young girl niche so it was kind of cool talking to a co-worker who actually knew who Blue Oyster Cult and The Cars were.
