I've had RainX and other brand wipers, and they all seem to squeak and leave streaks.
I was asking the guy at AutoZone about wipers and he recommended the AutoZone brand wipers. I was semi-skeptical, but at $9 each I gave them a shot. They don't streak, and they don't make much noise at all. |
regular cooking oil should be ok. rub it on with a paper towel
|
Most new wipers have a small alcohol pad in the package. It should be used on the "blade" of the wiper to clean all the crap off of the rubber from when it was made.
If you had them installed this probably got tossed instead of used. Try some rubbing alcohol on a rag and clean along the length of the blade. |

I have never ever heard of torque settings on wipers - especially on the age of car i'd expect currently sober to be driving :2 cents: @ OP - if the wipers squeaked from new they will always do it unless you get some silicone spray as has been suggested. Other than that - get yourself some better wiper blades and fit the damn things yourself, it is not rocket science. |
Dunno, just have great ones now.
