In my experience... and I am not accusing anyone in this thread either because I don't know how you work, but the reason most "average joes" have issues is because the producer/director/stunt-cock-in-waiting usually wants to ball the average joe's girl and is doing everything possible to undermine his confidence and psych him out of being able to perform.

I can't speak for others, and I'm not being defensive (lol), but when I was shooting what I described above, me being on camera in any capacity was not a thought until after the guys went home, and the concept brought up by my wife and the female performer. Shit!! I run a hard day. Depending on the script its an 8-10 hours per day. Make up, pretty girls, story dialog, Storyboard stills, hardcore stills, then I shoot the sex. The sex is the easiest part. Shooting the story/Fantasy is the most time consuming part.

It has it's pros and cons.
