Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol

I watched Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol in 4DX on the weekend. Freaking GREAT movie.. though perhaps it was made even better by the 4DX effects I got to enjoy (moving/shaking seats.. water sprayed in face.. smoke.. flashing lights around the movie theater.. etc)

It was like watching a movie while being on a theme park ride! If you've ever done Disney's California Adventure and 'A Bug Life' ride, then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about, except with 4DX the seats also move. Here's a longer/more detailed description of a 4DX movie theater experience since they're pretty rare in the USA (http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/20...n-us-late.html)

Has anyone else seen MI: Ghost Protocol yet? What did you think of it?

I would hazard a guess that BMW was likely a corporate sponsor of that movie...

LOL then I'm guessing the actual 4DX experience is what made it shine out for me. It added a level of excitement to the movie, that's for sure

Back when MI3 was released in theaters I watched it (it was released on my birthday) and then when it came out on DVD I suggested we rent it because I'd completely forgotten that I'd ever watched it in the first place, it was truly that forgettable LOL I fell asleep during it when we rented it too

That's kind of why I posted this thread actually.. to determine if my viewing pleasure was swayed by the medium in which I watched it, or if it really was a pretty good movie..

Went and saw it in a regular theater yesterday. I give it about a 7

Helped that I haven't watched any of the previous Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movies
so all the references to the original show were new to me. Pretty good action scenes and the pace of the movie was just about right for my tastes. I won't say what else I liked to prevent spoilers but I will say some of it involved a green dress and a parking lot full of exotics.

BTW its possible that BMW will come into production in a few years

Saw MI Ghost Protocol here in Montreal in IMAX and thought it was excellent. Smart, good story, great action, etc. (So, SO much better than Mission Impossible 2: What a piece of shit).

4DX sounds like fun. I'm a big fan of "RideFilm" Simulators like Star Tours, Spiderman: The ride, and the king of them all, Back To The Future: The Ride (Rest in peace!). I'll be sure to check out 4DX if it ever comes to Montreal.

BMW, Toyota and Apple.

If you notice in the scene in the parking garage, all the cars have logos missing except Toyota and BMW. At one point, there are 3 small identical Toyotas in a row.

Apple is big in to making sure that their products are featured and seen in movies. I spent a week this past summer getting product clearances for a small indie and the ONLY company that made the process easy was Apple.

Nothing wrong with product placement in movies.

Im not sure if i want to see this movie. Somehow the MI movies are always a dissapointment, and i like tom cruise as an actor because he has always good movies (except for the MI ones).
1 was allright but forgettable, 2 was horrible with the a boring and unspectacular climax: fighting in the sand like a lame b movie. 3 was ok but also nothing special. In the same niche the bourne movies for instance are way better.

Saw it in IMAX, was a fun movie as MI movies always are. MI3 is still my favorite one.

But the scene where he climbs out of the window to climb up it, when the camera swings out with him... awesome shot. Made my hair stand up.

just saw it tonight. too fuckin long. and you can tell that hollywood is hurting with 30 fuckin minutes of previews. i'm not planning on seeing none of the 2012 movies in a theater.

that used to work before in the old days, when hollywood can lock us up in a dark room and command our attention for 2 hours. nowadays, that barely works. i don't know about you guys, but for me no doubt the internet has ruined my attention span up majorly

the only reason to go to theaters these days is for horror flicks. watching them at home is just not the same, because in a movie theater, you cannot just pause it because you're scared

Same here. Thought it was pretty damn spectacular, and Simon Pegg was there for some humor, but they didn't over do it.

What DID make me almost jump out of my seat was the 5 minute clip we were shown from Batman Rises, a plane hijacking another plane. Holy fucking shit that was awesome. Did anybody catch that?

A 10 minute 4D film was enough to give me a terrible headache - not sure I could manage a whole movie in 4D

I didn't get the Batman trailer here in Orlando either.

I got stuck with a Snow White and the Huntsman trailer that showed Chralize Theron coming out of some milk like bath naked that made her look porcelain

In 4DX they tilt the seats so that you feel like you're looking down beside him.. it's a total trip
