As I've said in response equally dozens of times to those same people: "Never say never."

These people also said Obama was a good president!~

Afghanistan is also a major mining effort for lithium, that stuff that batteries in cell phones run on

Given this set of options I would have to go with Paul who is well meaning but misguided....... as opposed to Obama who is intentionally weakening the country to serve his hard left agenda. Not much of a choice........ but I will have to with misguided over evil in this case.

How is he "misguided?" By following the constitution and the ideals that this country was founded on?

I wonder who Ron Paul would have chosen for a running mate. Rand? Jesse? lol.

Perhaps his local auto mechanic?

As far as a running mate for Paul, I have been asking that question a lot lately and Ventura's name keeps popping up. Paul's fan bois don't realize he would be Paul's Palin if he ever made it that far.

He obviously can't pick his son, Not sure how his fans feel about that.

Jesse "the VP" Ventura sounds like a super badass WWE name.

Why bother? They have over a trillion dollars+ in regional mining and other natural resource exploitation that's been disovered over the past few years.

The Congress and the Executive branch are required to follow the Constitution as interpreted by the Federal Courts and ultimately the Supreme Court. Ron Paul does not have the authority to interpret the constitution now nor would he have the authority to do so as President.

The Constitution is a living document that can be amended and more than ten thousand amendments have been presented in our history with twenty seven amendments actually passed. In a typical congressional year around one to two hundred amendments are proposed.

glamourmodels 12-25-2011 10:34 AM

glamourmodels 12-25-2011 11:20 AM

That's technically incorrect. Presidents have the authority to interpret the constitutionality of a bill by simply not signing it. Also, the limitations you place on the executive branch as laid forth in your argument in a more broad fashion are certainly not followed by past presidents e.g. E.O.'s and P.D.D's

In other words, I am not saying you are wholly incorrect, except to say that he would not abuse PDD's and EO's which is itself constraining himself to the constitution, whereas others have not, and furthermore he can simply not sign something he feels does not pass constitutional muster. That in and of itself is far superior of a result than past administrations and the country would be better off as a result just based on those two things alone.

Moreover you are totally leaving out the bully pulpit and him being able to focus attention on issues and getting the people to lobby their representatives which is not inconsequential.

Ron Paul Published Racist Newsletters

ruff 12-25-2011 08:16 PM

Paul is not going to get the nomination. It will be Romney which you would know if you had any sense. Ron Paul is about as viable as Ralph Nader. Paul is Gingrich's spoiler. This Republican circus is embarassing which is great for Democrats. With that fool in NY and the other fool in Alaska, I imagine true conservatives are gringing in disbelief that they will ever field any candidate that might be worth a flying fuck.

Any candidacy involving Paul would most certainly create a huge interest in his vice-president select, because it would be him/her most likely to complete the term since Paul has one foot in the grave already.

Relentless 12-25-2011 09:12 PM

Running mate matters, especially when the candidate is already quite old.

Paul/Bloomberg I'd vote Paul
Paul/Hillary I'd vote Paul

Paul/any of the people likely to actually be his running mate, I'd vote Obama.

It's only about who the Republican party really thinks has a remote chance of beating Obama. Unfortunately for the Republicans, Romney is the only realistic candidate with any chance of mounting a threat to Obama's presidency. He will, of course, not win. The rest of the field are clown shoes looking to increase their net worth through donations, book sales and speaking engagements. Look at each one's liabilities and tell me that you really think any single one of them excepting Romney has a snowball's chance in hell of winning the nomination. Obama's re-election team will eat their fucking lunch chewing them up and spitting them out with all the goofy baggage each one of them is carrying around.

What a hoot! Jon Hunt is the only one of the bunch worth a shit and he's a non-starter.

glamourmodels 12-26-2011 11:23 AM

yes actually, I am 100% positive that if Ron paul were to debate Obama head to head he would obliterate him, newsletters and all. GFY posts do not allow me enough characters to list all of Obamas broken promises. Issues that Ron Paul is very solid on. If you dont know what that list of broken promises are than you simply have not been paying attention.

I'm pretty sure I've been paying attention. If you are going to talk about broken promises from Obama, surely you can list 10 of them. I'd really be interested in exactly how you determine that he promised something and then did not deliver. Do you know something all of the Republican presidential candidates don't know? Because all they have had to pummel Obama with is the lame birther thing. I'm sure that they would be all over the broken promise thing if they knew.

Ron Paul has some good ideas but he has always positioned himself as a fringe player. These guys do not get elected, they generally spoil an election and help the most incompetent asshat get elected. You are wrong if you think Paul could get elected and get any more out of congress or the house than Obama.

Republican = Romney | Democrat = Obama | Obama Wins. The End. This is how it will play out. The rest is just theatrics.

You'll never get a rational answer to that question from the kind of person who says such things. The point is to attack, to poison the wells, not to make sense.

Now, I happen to despise obama, but not for the ficticious reasons these silly teabaggers do. (or rmore accurately, the reasons they have been told to say by their masters. They usually don't have an actual opinion they can articulate.)

As I have said, I would vote for Paul. It would be a revenge vote, because a Paul presidency would be a catastrophe for the country, but I would be very very happy to be able to make it.

No matter what happens, I will not vote for obama.

It is however a silly poll - you republicans dont have the balls to nominate Paul. Your fate has already been decided by your masters, just as the dem's fate was decided by theirs.

No one is stopping you from doing a write-in.

That is fine. There are plenty of perfectly valid reasons to dislike Obama or GWB for that matter. It's the height that hyperbole has reached against them that is patently ridiculous. Why make shit up when there are real, substantive things one can disagree on? Probably because they aren't emotional enough.

I'll see who the libertarians and greens put up and probably vote for one of them as a presidential candidate.

The republicans have no ideas and no plans for the future, a vote for them is a wasted vote policy wise, and a dead end economically. Except for Paul, you have to be trapped in your lower brain to think voting republican makes sense. And Paul makes sense only as a revenge vote.

Too bad obama betrayed us all. But he did, and there is no getting around it.

Revenge voting is how you get the real fuck bubbles in office. So that works great doesn't it. Your statement about Obama betraying all of us has no basis in fact and you cannot substantiate it at all. The Republicans control the house and congress. They stated that their goal is to get Obama out of office at the expense of governing this country. There is your betrayal.
