What is standard font and size for printed mailed letters these days?

Everyone seems to want text to be four points these days... sigh.. if you're writing a business letter, what do you use these days? Times? Arial? 10pt maybe?

size 12 Times New Roman is pretty standard. I think Arial looks a little better.

I thought 12, but I just read a reputable source that said 12 is definitely too large. Next time I'll use 10.

Bare minimum for print is 9 in my experience. I like 10 or 11. Most people use 12 i think.

It's sad how young designers with big monitors use such small fonts and when the items get printed you can't read shit.

To clarify, I guess when I said 9 pt is minimum, it was really meant for other forms of print, like business cards and when your forced to cram a shitload of content with no room left. I wouldn't recommend it for a letter but to my knowledge, anything lower than 9 is unreadable.

I usually stick to 11 pt myself, some like 10 and most use 12 i think.
