Ron Paul would kick Obamas ass

I just dont get these people that say Ron Paul is unelectable, on the contrary I bet a lot of his convictions are very similar to both left and right leaning people not to mention the middle electorate who just wants common sense.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1211/70674.html

Fucking Obama would go down hard.

His ideas are cool in theory and make for great talking points. But he's not electable. A president has to work with government and lead. To lead, others must follow. Neither Dems/Reps are going to follow the guy who wants to dismantle most of the federal government, federal reserve etc etc etc.

The American public is not allowed to choose who the majority want to represent them, you should know this, it's all guided and planned into what the party wants and then they will tell you who will lead

Ron Paul doesn't support funding Israel. I agree with him 100%

Problem is, Jews run the entire system - from the Federal Reserve to ALL media conglomerates, so he has no chance (unfortunately).

Not being ant-semitic, just stating the fucking facts.

Conservatives and Republican elites in the state are divided over who to support for the GOP nomination, but they almost uniformly express concern over the prospect that Ron Paul and his army of activist supporters may capture the state?s 2012 nominating contest ? an outcome many fear would do irreparable harm to the future role of the first-in-the-nation caucuses.

Paul poses an existential threat to the state?s cherished kick-off status, say these Republicans, because he has little chance to win the GOP nomination and would offer the best evidence yet that the caucuses reward candidates who are unrepresentative of the broader party.

"It would make the caucuses mostly irrelevant if not entirely irrelevant," said Becky Beach, a longtime Iowa Republican who helped Presidents Bush 41 and Bush 43 here. "It would have a very damaging effect because I don?t think he could be elected president and both Iowa and national Republicans wouldn?t think he represents the will of voters."
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1211/70674.html

This is an interesting tactic. This is basically the GOP establishment blackmailing Iowans by saying that if they support Ron Paul the establishment will cut them off from being first in the nation, something to which Iowans are very proud of. To show everyone how the GOP all have their minions go with the predefined talking points, you can see the Washington Post running the same shared script from the same playbook:

Quote:
If he should win, Iowa caucus goers will rightly be the target of widespread anger and disdain from the mainstream and conservative media as well as a great many in the party, both from establishment and Tea Party quarters. An Iowa state operative, rather defensively, insisted to me that it would be wrong to take a Ron Paul win out on Iowa or strip it of its first-in-the-nation status. ?Ron Paul proves a point ? if you run the three-pronged traditional caucus approach: advertise here, send mailers and visit often ? anyone can do well ? EVEN Ron Paul. Iowa isn?t a place that ?wins? the nomination it?s a place that ?winnows? the path to the nomination.? That?s just not going to fly when the flogging of Republicans begins, labeling Iowans as a bunch of racist loons. If Iowa can?t sniff out such characters, why put it in charge of the winnowing?

There will be time enough to argue about Iowa?s future status in GOP presidential contests. (Relegate it to February? Require a primary to preserve its placement?) But in the short term, Iowa will make the contest and the people who participated in it the laughingstock of the country. Perhaps it is time for the Iowa?s governor, as a service to his party and the state, to issue an ?anyone but Paul? endorsement. It might be the best thing he could do for his state?s continued political influence.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...vP5O_blog.html

Quote:
The most troubling eventuality that Iowa Republicans are bracing for is that Paul wins the caucuses only to lose the nomination and run as a third-party candidate in November ? all but ensuring President Obama is re-elected.
Which is why if the GOP has any sense they will nominate Ron Paul because if anyone else is the nominee he looses to Obama for sure. The ONLY way the Republicans will be rid of Obama is if they nominate Ron Paul plain and simple.

Hence the reason he will never be elected. The only or the majority of the unemployed would be the Politicians.

I think there is a lot of truth in this. Look at McCain - fucker looks like he might die any day. Compare him to Obama during the election, who looks young and youthful, and it's obvious.

I dont think he is a registered Republican but Jesse Ventura has expressed interest in running with Dr. Paul, whether Republican or not he certainly fits the bill ideologically and brings a degree of star power to the ticket. And yes, I think Ron Paul could and would beat Obama. He gets serious support from Independents who lets face it, are the ones who decide elections in this country. Moreover he would siphon off votes from disaffected Democrats disappointed in Obama. No fucking way Indies and Dems will vote for Newt or Mitt. Not a chance. As for him governing, thats what the bully pulpit is for. When people can actually hear Ron Paul speak unfiltered by the media he is very convincing. All he has to do is get the people to demand cooperation from their representatives. moreover, even without help there is many things he can do via executive orders and through US code.

Any you think that a Rand Paul / Jesse Ventura ticket would be something you could vote for? Are you even an American?

Besides, my question was not directed towards the vice-president. It does not work that way. Paul needs a Congress that would support him. Who should we vote into Congress that will assist him?

The wheels start falling off the Ron Paul wagon in the second half of the second Jon Stewart clip (above).

If Obama doesn't have the power to line up the DC elites, what chance do you think Ron Paul will have? Which side would he even caucus with?

The bigger question is, which side does Ron Paul hurt most if he gains in popularity before the election? He has a young following, so does he hurt Obama more? He also has a Tea Party following too, so does he hurt the GOP more?

I personally think he would syphon off more Republican voters, so I like him.

Go go Ron Paul!

Humm lets see what has Obama done..

I know it's very easy to forget but see we are a nation that happened to be in two wars when he took office. He managed to make good on his promises of hunting Bin Laden where ever he hid, found and gave the order to kill him.

His admin has also for the most part dismantled al Qaeda by killing bin Laden and most of the other top leaders. They are pretty much not an effective threat at this point or at the very least have been severely crippled.

Oh yea lets not forget that he has made good on his promise to pull our troops out of Iraq.. That way we can now focus on the remaining war in Afghan, the war that should of been the primary focus in the first place.

Humm any other presidency that would be enough to say yea he's done a decent job.. But I guess in the tuff guy internet generation it's just far to easy to whine about everything than understand that wars our troops are fighting in should probably take priority over stuff going on back at home.

Besides that Ron Paul is a babbling idiot.. and would never pass go.. The only reason he does well in polls is because he has a cult fan base. Although we have seen how stupid rises to the top with great choices like Palin, Cain & Bachmann with-in the GOP so maybe RP has a chance after all..

Well one good thing about Paul is he would push to legalize marijuana but more importantly he would leave the porn industry alone, unlike some of the other GOP candidates.

That is precisely the problem with demagogues like Ron Paul and Ross Perot.

Honestly, I would rather see a parliamentary system - you know, the form of government that the US usually has defeated nations implement after a war (like Germany, Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc). Then, the Libertarian Party, the Green Party, etc, could at least get some degree of proportional representation (and their members could gain experience at various levels of government), and they could negotiate as a minority party in forming a coalition government.

The way that money dominates politics in our current political system (made worse by the recent Supreme Court decision that ruled in effect that "corporations - even foreign/multinational corporations - are people", and as such are not subject to campaign spending limits, etc.) is undermining what is left of democracy in this country.

Unfortunately, our current system is mired in gridlock, and is likely to be so for the foreseeable future. The only clear winners are the oligarchy that profits immensely from the dysfunctional system that their political puppets help maintain, keeping the people of this country endlessly divided as they rape the riches from the earth.

Fucking Obama would go down hard.
If Prez Obama lost to Ron Paul, I would be OK with it. For a republican, he's pretty left-leaning in alot of respects. He hasn't flip-flopped on anything I don't think, and he sticks to his beliefs which are pretty smart. He is definately no Palin, Bachman, Perry, etc.
