I'm not using one but I've heard good things about them, and Apple has a good return policy. I would call up Apple first and make sure that it works with the monitor you want to use, and see if they recommend extra RAM since I think the standard configuration is a little light in that department. Good luck!

I'm far from a Mac person but if you're set on getting a Mac Mini I would definitely upgrade the RAM as Mark said, especially working with photoshop.

Only an idiot would buy a RAM upgrade from Apple. Keep that in mind.

4GB would be the minimum you'd want, the iMac and MacBook Pro all come with 4GB.

JB HiFi in Melbourne will do the Mac Mini 2.3Ghz i5 for $649. List price is $695.

I have one as a media center. They are great machines but yes the ram is light. Buy from otherworldcomputing.com they have vids on each model and how to upgrade the ram easily.

He's in Australia, it will be cheaper to get the RAM locally.

I'm on iMac with Lion os which is the same os that's on Mini you thinking about. I use PS CS3 and Filezilla all the time, works fine. Also I have another old MacBook that has 2 gb RAM and same tools work fine there. So if you want to edit stuff in PS and upload it with Filezilla you should be fine with 2 gb of RAM.

i want the 2.7 i7 as i can see i can only get the i7 from apple direct.
and for only $120 why not.
as far as i can see jb hi-fi only has the i5 2.3 with 2gb ram.
also kingston 2x 4gb KTA-MB1333/4G is much cheaper than apple ram at $240.
all i need know is to make sure my screens work with the mini apple should get back to me soon hopefully.

i don't want to get the i5 and later regret not buying the i7 for not much more.

Just bought a new one and love it, it'll run all those things without any problems.

If you can, buy the $799 one with the ATI video it has independent video ram, the $599 one has a gforce card and shares the system memory, it's fine for what you're doing but if you want to get into video or anything you'll want the separate ram.

Also whatever you get, do not upgrade the system memory, go to crucal.com and top it out at 8 gig for $45 bucks

I just got 8gb for my MBP. It was $25. On the Apple site, they want $400 for the same 8gb upgrade.

I bought one but never hooked it up. It matched my entertainment system, and I liked how it looked on the shelf. I use a Mac Pro (the desktop), so it matches that, too.

Good luck with your baby Mac. Rofl. Why not just buy a smart (non-i)phone or a netbook? They're cheaper and just as useful.
