    People Arrested for Dancing!

I'm shopping this week for curtains for my future Fema camp detention cell.
I'm thinking eggshell color would go nice with concrete grey?

You'll make a great officer at an American concentration camp. There will probably be job openings in the near future.

the thing is, this wasn't some innocent act, they went there to get arrested to show people you can't dance there. They were successful.
Is it ridiculous? Of course...however it is a blip on the radar of what we need to be concerned about.

Warned to stop dancing, in a public place! So if a cop comes up to you while you're out in public and warns you to stop walking, or stop standing, or stop speaking, or some other insane bullshit request, will you stop?

hell yes! I know better than to argue with or disobey a cop, unless I'm trying to get arrested

I'm glad I was born a "whiner" and that there are "whiners" like the people in this video and the OWS who are willing to stand up for basic freedoms instead of keeping quiet like cowards.

Stop being stupid. They went there knowing the law. They knew they would get arrested for causing a public disturbance. But they went anyways to get arrested and film it. For what? Did it change anything? Did it change the law? Did it change public perception?

No. A bunch of idiots with nothing better to do. Thank GOD OWS came along, now we know where all the idiots will be at any given time.

The reason things like this anger me is because I wonder where the line will be drawn, if at all. They were dancing, not sitting down, not blocking sidewalks, not harassing anyone, just dancing. What's next, saying the wrong things, wearing the wrong clothes, being too poor, being a different color?

Don't you have kids, or younger members of your family? Don't you worry about their increasing loss of freedoms in this country?

The video has been posted several times, on many sites across the internet. To answer your question, yes, it did bring change. We're all here discussing it, and so are the people who have discussed it before. If it woke just one more person up to the slippery slope we're on in this country, then yes, it was worth it and change has been made.

You are delusional. Discussing how stupid it was to go and knowingly breaking a law to garner internet fame is NOT CHANGING ANYTHING. Does the law still stand? Yes. Causing a public disturbance at a National Monument, was that really needed to be done to enact change? Get off the fucking pipe.

But you'll say whatever you need too so you can win the argument, no matter how much you look like a fucktard doing so.

Using the Fox News Line as an attempt to bolster a losing argument where there is no other recourse.

I saw your post, and here is mine again, because it's you who obviously skipped over. You see, I was trying to get your opinions on the current state of affairs in this country from these questions. I tried to see if you had concern for our country continuing to head down a path of removing our rights and freedoms. As was just done with the defense bill Obama signed.

It's really my fault though, for believing you had the capacity to do anything but continue the cycle I posted. I apologize!

He didn't tell us to lobby or vote , he told us not to obey unjust laws. The monument is there to celebrate his wisdom as a founding father. Arresting people for dancing is like spitting on america as far as i am concerned. Anyone who supports it is doing the same.

Both you and I know that this could have been brought to court without breaking the law. I would hazard a guess that these "Civic Minded" young adults came up with this idea while smoking BC's Finest and brainstorming. Because as of May, absolutely NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE, LAW CONTESTED, or anything been changed to that law due to this video. Nothing.

All kidding aside, this is some bullshit.

It's not that dancing is illegal, it's more about disturbing the peace. You can't go into a local restaurant where I'm eating dinner and start dancing or singing. Along the same lines, if I was drop thousands of dollars in plane fare and hotels to go to visit monuments in Washington DC only to have my afternoon ruined by stupid kids making a scene, I'd be pretty pissed to.

And these dumb kids will understand this more twenty years from now when they have kids of their own, they shell out a ton of money to spend a day at a museum or monument on vacation, only to have their day ruined by a bunch of stupid kids. I remember once at the Grand Canyon a group of four or five teens all bought ice creams cones, and decided to have a ice cream fight in the middle of the path. It was a five minute scene, and then I had to try to explain to my kid what was happening. I'm pretty easy going (and I've acted like an asshole more than once in Vegas myself), but there's a time and a place for that.
