google is ahead of time
they achieved excellent functional (UX) designs in their recent upgrades with gmail, youtube and g+. very subtle, low contrast and spacious, lets you focus on content, ease of use and tuning.

I never use gmail in a browser.

Get yourself Thunderbird. (Firefox's free email prog).

It gives an interface to Gmail (and perhaps other email providers) so when you create a folder on Thunderbird it creates it on the gmail.com site.

You never have to login to the Gmail site. Love it. :thumbsup

This is probably why facebook makes drastic changes every year or two.

I'm of the dinosaur variety too, once I've learned something and I'm comfortable with it, I don't like to change it. I'm still using Windows XP!
