Yes, many names were removed from the registry at the request of governments and municipalities.

You should remove the insane amount of names that have to do with child porn and child exploitation. I mean, you did push this through on the backs of protecting the kids, so probably a good idea to block those BEFORE you block city names. Unless of course, none of this was really about the kids. Then you would block city names first.

Just sayin.

:thumbsup

They weren't even smart enough to pull that off for PR reasons.

I bought one xxx domain.

I did it as a defensive measure to protect my interests.

Under the circumstances I had no option.

DotXXX when are the domains activated? It seems domain holders get a mail to register at the sponsor community? When will this mail be send?

Best efforts were involved to remove MORE than the many standard names registries normally remove pertaining to that particular subject, but there are simply too many possibilities to remove everything. Despite those best efforts, someone will always be able to come up with a related string.

Christina T. 12-07-2011 04:04 PM

I didn't buy any yet still contemplating

Went to edit, got distracted and can't edit twice.

I wanted to add that, while we cannot control what is registered, we do encourage you to file a complaint should a site with a name like that go live.

It should be within 24 hours. Check your spam filter as some are reporting finding it there.

Barring that, feel free to email me at prbot at ICMRegistry dot com and I can send you a link.

Freedoom 12-07-2011 05:06 PM

I bought xxx.com instead :\

I think its a £/$ thing... I just looked at godaddy, strung a random series of letters together and chose .xxx

FHEFEFHFE.XXX

ING82 12-07-2011 05:53 PM

Great.. I wrote ICM and they said to give it more time.

They better not auction my domains. They're in my GoDaddy account so there mine right?

Well the ones that you received a confirmation on, they are yours, but if you have any that are in your account that say "pre registration" in the status field...your in trouble. They are supposed to email you the date and time of the auction.

DotXXX 12-07-2011 10:18 PM

Member ID emails generally go out within 24 hours, though they seem to be slightly delayed. Some people are reporting finding the email in their spam filter so check there, and of course, you can always email me for the link to re-request the email.
