Who the cheapest xxx registrar? GoDaddy is $99 and NameCheap is $78 I think.

BlackCrayon 12-07-2011 05:53 AM

I'm quite surprised by the number of .xxx that appear to be taken..

They even have commercials on TV to tell the people they will keep the extension clean of obscene content such as bestiality.

If I can't put scat on it, I'll forward the domain to another one. And how do they decide what's obscene and what isn't, where do they draw the line, who's going to decide? Naked tits are ok to look at with the whole family during Xmas dinner but naked pussy is obscene? :1orglaugh

namecheap is very cheap ,only 78$ LOL

you are either one dumb fool or a fake troll. if you were going to reg .xxx domains you should of at least went for half decent ones instead of (excuse my pun) total shit domains. :1orglaugh

EukerVoorn 12-07-2011 08:50 AM

I got a few of what you call "decent" too. Normal adult porn ones. Good ones. There's just more money in extreme porn at the moment and I'm serving both markets.

18teens 12-07-2011 09:15 AM

Zero....

Kenny B! 12-07-2011 09:47 AM

None, no need.

HandballJim 12-07-2011 10:12 AM

Called gdaddy about the domain that is still pending, and they don't know shit about the .xxx and told me to wait for an email. If it goes to auction I lost since I can't out bid the japanese government.

EukerVoorn 12-07-2011 10:56 AM

I haven't received any mails from GoDaddy about activation. Also not anything from the first registrar I used. No option to set DNS in my account at ICM. So I bought a bunch of XXX domains but know nothing about status and can't use them. None of the people involved don't know what they are doing and the little information that's being given conflicts with the information given by others. Well I tried to register them, if it all fails for some reason it was a fun adventure, a waste of time and I'll get all my money back and I'll live long and happy with my .com domains :)

Questions if you don't mind:

Is there any information on how Google and other search engines will treat the .xxx extension?

I've typed in many different domain.xxx combinations and only notice text stating the domain is registered with a black background. Is there an ongoing issue with developing .xxx domains?

mizmiz 12-07-2011 01:58 PM

when .xxx be alive?

I don't mind questions at all, thats why I'm here.

Google is treating .xxx the same as any other domain extension. You can type site:.xxx into the search bar and see that sites and pages are being indexed, and this: http://bit.ly/uiY5Pd is a pretty good example that shows that google is ranking for keywords, as well as allowing you to buy keywords for sites on .xxx domains.

I'm going to guess that you're hitting pages that are common word, premium generic domains that have been held in reserve by ICM Registry. We're looking for new and exciting development ideas for these sites and encourage people to come to us to discuss them.

Ah, yes, I was hitting on common word pages and see many other sites now. Thank you.

Yes, many names were removed from the registry at the request of governments and municipalities.

You should remove the insane amount of names that have to do with child porn and child exploitation. I mean, you did push this through on the backs of protecting the kids, so probably a good idea to block those BEFORE you block city names. Unless of course, none of this was really about the kids. Then you would block city names first.

Just sayin.

:thumbsup

They weren't even smart enough to pull that off for PR reasons.

NewNick 12-07-2011 03:24 PM

I bought one xxx domain.

I did it as a defensive measure to protect my interests.

Under the circumstances I had no option.

SZNY 12-07-2011 04:02 PM

DotXXX when are the domains activated? It seems domain holders get a mail to register at the sponsor community? When will this mail be send?

Best efforts were involved to remove MORE than the many standard names registries normally remove pertaining to that particular subject, but there are simply too many possibilities to remove everything. Despite those best efforts, someone will always be able to come up with a related string.

Christina T. 12-07-2011 04:04 PM

I didn't buy any yet still contemplating

Went to edit, got distracted and can't edit twice.

I wanted to add that, while we cannot control what is registered, we do encourage you to file a complaint should a site with a name like that go live.

It should be within 24 hours. Check your spam filter as some are reporting finding it there.

Barring that, feel free to email me at prbot at ICMRegistry dot com and I can send you a link.

Freedoom 12-07-2011 05:06 PM

I bought xxx.com instead :\

I think its a £/$ thing... I just looked at godaddy, strung a random series of letters together and chose .xxx

FHEFEFHFE.XXX

ING82 12-07-2011 05:53 PM

I got microsoft.xxx and I'm fully prepared to fight them from my backyard :ak47:

Great.. I wrote ICM and they said to give it more time.

They better not auction my domains. They're in my GoDaddy account so there mine right?

Well the ones that you received a confirmation on, they are yours, but if you have any that are in your account that say "pre registration" in the status field...your in trouble. They are supposed to email you the date and time of the auction.

DotXXX 12-07-2011 10:18 PM

Member ID emails generally go out within 24 hours, though they seem to be slightly delayed. Some people are reporting finding the email in their spam filter so check there, and of course, you can always email me for the link to re-request the email.
