Apparently general availability just kicked off:

All available .XXX domain names will be released for registration at 16:00 UTC (11:00am EST) today. .XXX domain names can only purchased via accredited registrars. A convenient portal, www.buy.xxx, lists all the registrars and includes an easily accessed domain lookup tool. All .XXX domain names will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis with prices set by the individual registrars.

If its live, wouldn't it no longer be pre registration and be in a drop down menu on the domain registrars listed on buy.xxx? I don't see it at any of the registrars.

I see it on Godaddy's dropdown, but if you enter a name it redirects you to the pre registration page. Got me...

I've seen complaints of similar as well. People are claiming to have preregistered before today's launch and are finding that they can go to another registrar and order the domain. Fraud, crime, deception, all come to mind.

I have been talking to a forum friend who registered over 100 .xxx names just a few days ago. He said that's he's not yet received an application to even become a member of the "sponsored community" and that all the domains are still listed as "processing application" in his account. What a mess.
