Protect produced porn videos from tubes?

Anyone know of a system/software that can prevent Manwin/Fabian's tube sites to steal produced video contents?

Is there anyway videos can be streamed and/or downloaded for ONLY the customer to use and see?

If there is some kind of software that can be created so that normal vid files are uploaded to all these tubes wouldn't that help solve this tube-stealing-content-giving-free problem that we all are facing?

I'm not programmer or software genious, so I'm asking, does anyone know if some system like this is getting worked on?

you can't truly protect anything unless you lock it in a box and never display it. if you're showing frames in any way, it can be grabbed.

there are however several 'hurdles' that you can put in place to either make it harder for it to be taken or track down the source of the theft.

Lawyers, sue them and wait for the settlement pay day. They can gladly steal my shit anytime they want.
Chances are you will lose though, since it was all "uploaded" by users.

So no, you are pretty well fucked.

        Non-technical solution:

Use .xxx domains and strategically paint the url on the performers.

Adhering to their internal guidelines, this should encourage their policing of "uploaded" content.

One (not 100%) option is turn the films into flash so can only be watched online.

Option 2 is to put your url over the film, and change the position every few mins making it hard to remove.

You could put a warning at the start and end of the films that the films are personal use only and uploading will result in a big fine. Put a warning not on the site too. It may help to put some off.

I'm not going to pretend like I know how it works on a technical level but Netflix and similar sites seem to function just fine without their content being lifted.

Seems to me the bigger problem would be if your site is the only one that streams while every other site lets you download.

Flash as in a swf file or ??
FLV you can obviously stream locally, so I assume you are talking about something else?

I thought about doing websites where you can only stream the content, problem is that unless everyone did this, you would be a step behind others, and it would be one more reason for the consumer to join a different website and could/would dramatically effect your own sales.

I don't think protecting your content and or streaming is being a step behind. In fact quite to the contrary. YouTube isn't a step behind.

If a consumer has the choice of joining a website they can...

                      a. stream/download whatever they want.

                      or

                      b. can only stream

what site do you think they will join?

even though looking at my stats 95% of our members stream the videos, I still believe people want the option. check review sites and ask if that would add or knock off points.

They will join the site where they can download and stream.

That doesn't automatically make the streaming only site a step behind. Extra security can mean more exclusivity which means higher ratio of conversion.

It doesn't matter how many hurtles you put into place... If one surfer figures it out your video is instantly shared and the rate goes up exponentially with each day thereafter.

Can't be stopped. Can be made harder though. In my opinion of effectiveness against cost.

Limit downloads per day to a certain GB.

Have a good password protector on the site, so hackers get bounced.

Start the scenes with girls in your T-shirts or even a big banner at the back of the room, so every pirated video is an advert. Screw the domain in te scene, stick a dirty great big banner into the scene and shape the scene so the user knows who shot it and where to find more.

Watch the Tubes and DMCA them all day or get www.removeyourcontent.com onto the job. They seem to have stopped taking new clients, time to start a new similar company?

Get a lawyer to send threatening letters to anyone. Expensive but the most effective. Strangely those with lawyers with balls don't seem to get onto tubes as often as others. Go figure that one out.

This would only annoy members wanting to watch a lot of footage all in a night... some download ready to watch & enjoy staying with the same website to watch the new footage & some older footage that they haven't seen

Option 2 I was going to recommend, something small in the corner of the footage... I may begin to do this

The warning is a great idea but if recut, wouldn't stop anyone using the content, but would make life harder for the little fuckers

If i would have my own paysite,i would simply stream in some unknown format which cannot be easily download like flash.I know that would cause negative reviews on review sites, but what is safe is safe.

You could always try the approach Arsewithclass is taking. Make content so bad of models so ugly on paysites with so little exposure that you really never have to worry about anyone stealing the content.

Interesting idea. What avoiding bouncing the watermark on the screen? Static watermarks can be cropped or titled over. But a watermark that just went corner to corner would at least help branding.

And herein lies the problem with 99% of peep in the porn biz. Sacrifice the goose. The solution is very simple.

You will make a sale to a downandupper who will swipe all your content with only a trial membership instead of catering to your true customers who will constantly rebill.

There is such a stupid easy fix for protecting content.

                                            1. Understand it will get stolen and understand that it's not entirely a bad thing. If your vids are watermarked and have pre and post roll branding you at least are getting your domain put there.

                                            2. Wait at least a month before letting viewers download new releases. Your true customers will understand and have no problem with this.

                                            3. Charge less. $30 a month for a site is too much. The price should be $19.95 an no, it doesn't need to include your entire network. Look at all the money the record industry wastes suing old ladies. What it they took that money and lowered the price. And why am I paying $1 for a song from 1970?

Last - why with a month membership are u allowing users to download and keep forever? Why aren't there self destructs in these video downloads? That one thing would be te easiest fix. Of course some 10 year old would have a work around in a minute. But if this was set up so that each video had it's own self destruct code it could be much more difficult to break.

                                            Just my 2 cents.

                                            Now call me Paul Markham.

It takes exactly two clicks to save a video from YouTube. YouTube doesn't "protect" the videos at all because there is no way to do that without creating bigger problems. Also the only secure way is to not post the video at all, none of the "protection" really works.

We're working on something that comes at this problem from a different angle because there never has been a way to keep people from easily saving a video. If you own the hardware, like a cable company DVR, you can make it easiest to make a lower quality copy. You can also stop them from saving ridiculous amounts of content in a short time by not allowing them to download it twenty times as fast as they can watch it, which is the Throttlebox approach. A new approach is really needed, though, and we're working on something that should help.

Is there anyway videos can be streamed and/or downloaded for ONLY the customer to use and see?

If there is some kind of software that can be created so that normal vid files are uploaded to all these tubes wouldn't that help solve this tube-stealing-content-giving-free problem that we all are facing?

There is no way. When it comes to porn, everything is free. This is the way the 99% likes it.
