Celebrities Gone Wild!

On a radio talk show this afternoon the host, discussing the Phil Spector situation, asked: "What is it with celebrities murdering people lately? Almost as many Americans have been killed by celebrities as by sharks in the last few years."

Music legend Phil Spector held in murder probe
Feb 4 2003

The Western Mail - The National Newspaper Of Wales
*

LEGENDARY music producer Phil Spector was last night under arrest in California in connection with a murder investigation.

A spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau in Los Angeles said Spector was being detained at Alhambra Police Station for questioning.

Spector was taken into custody around 5am Pacific Time yesterday (1pm GMT) after a woman was found shot dead in an Alhambra home. The connection between Spector and the unidentified woman is not yet clear.

Spector, 62, produced such music greats as Tina Turner and the Ramones plus records for the Beatles, the Righteous Brothers and the Crystals.

He produced a string of memorable '60s hits, including the Crystals' Da Doo Ron Ro and Then He Kissed Me, and the Ronettes' Be My Baby. Spector also created the `Wall of Sound' effect which involved over-dubbing scores of musicians to make a massive roar and which changed the way pop records were produced.

A father-of-five, he married Ronnie Bennett, a member of the Ronettes, but they divorced in 1974.

Spector's father, Benjamin, committed suicide in 1949. Spector later visited the grave and used the inscription To Know Him Was to Love Him as the basis for one of his best known hit songs.

A woman found dead at the home of Phil Spector has been identified.

The record producer is facing a murder charge after the body of 40-year-old Lana Clarkson was found at his mansion in California.

Investigators have not revealed what her relationship was to Spector.

He is expected to appear in court this week to be formally charged with first degree murder.

The 62-year-old was arrested after the body of the woman was found at his hilltop home in the Los Angeles suburb of Alhambra.

She had been shot dead and was found in the foyer area of the castle-like estate.

A firearm was also recovered after police were alerted to the incident.

Spector was taken into custody at Alhambra Police Department for questioning as part of a homicide investigation and later charged.

Any diver will tell you that sharks aren't that dangerous.

Apparently spector is a lunatic that likes to play with guns, such as keeping the ramones in a studio under gun point until they had the opening riff of the song perfect.
