The Apple iPhone 4S has set a pretty predictable trend for Apple?s iPhone naming conventions for the future. After the next handset, the iPhone 5, we can pretty safely assume they?ll launch the iPhone 5S. Figures that out? You?re not alone: Porn pushers beat you to it.
Apple has just wrestled control of a host of domain names back off of porn peddlers. The most notable is www.iPhone4S.com, which currently redirects to a porn website. Apple?s bought it from them to redirect to the Apple Store, but what?s interesting is that the adult entertainers behind the URL figured out the name years ago.
That domain was registered in 2008, when the iPhone 3G was brand new. Does Apple have friends in the porn industry? Or are they all psychic? Either way, a quick search reveals that domains for www.iPhone5.com and www.iPhone5S.com are already owned, and not by Apple. Looks like Apple?s cheque book might need to come out again soon?
