models cost the same, but shooting that style takes A LOT more time, in a regular shooting day for web content you could get lots of content shot, multiple scenes/photosets. shooting X-Art's style you are going to get one maybe two video scenes done. whoever shoots it will be higher than average skilled and he will have the necessary lights and camera equipment so you will be paying him a higher rate than the average porn shooter. he will need a couple of assistants/camera guys and a makeup artist. you'll also want a nicer location than a shitty porn studio or office with a black leather couch.

so added all up it's minimum 5K i think.

i feel bad for X-Art actually, they are going to be ripped off heavily - the next generation of cameras are going to allow a lot of shooters to copy X-Art. of course most will not nail it because copycats never match the original because the original is always more creative and more talented. but it will be good enough to saturate the adult web with videos that look close to X-Art. already seeing it.

Naughty America shoots TonightsGirlfriend with a DLSR camera - it works for that site but it is not shot with the same techniques as X-Art. I just saw a scene from PornPros, they are now copying Naughty America.

One thing about X-Art's videos, as beautiful as they look - for me as a guy looking for a porn video to rub one out, they suck. boring.

i think the secret to x-art is the lighting, a ton of natural light and a very seasoned videographer with the right camera.

Great insite in all your posts in this thread. I agree that the hardcore elements of X-Art (and Joymii) are boring. It seemed like hardcore would be the natural next step for those types of sites, but I don't think having hardcore adds much because people already have other sources to get what they want when they want hardcore.

Well..yeah I guess if you overpaid a shooter to do that it would be expensive. But what they are shooting isn't requiring much at all in on set expense.

So if you did overpay a shooter...you would definitely be throwing your money in the garbage. Those scenes could almost be shot with a cam on a tripod and a remote control to zoom.
