Where is the usual welcome to a new female member of the board?

I believe there are many ways her address could have leaked. Lists get sold and traded, a non-adult spammer that might have been spamming your addy might have sold his list to a porn spammer etc... How it could get there, there are many many ways. - Email diggers, harvesters - employees selling lists - opt-in lists that get sold to other people etc... Get her a new address and try to keep it secret. Also hotmail works wonders for me for filtering out spam. |
If real the solutions have been given and a truly resposible parent would have taken the advice by now and this would not be an issue any more. But then a truly resposible parent would also have had enough guards in place to start with. There's plenty of software to filter e-mails against adult content as well as general browser content.
If you are truly as intelligent and logical as you think you would have realised that coming to this board is in all likelyhood not coming to the 'soruce' at all. To taint all people running adult sites with the same brush as that of a spammer shows you are far less than intelligent and logical. To expect a spammer to automatically hang-out here is totally daft. There's unfortunately loads of the nasty little turds out there and only a percentage read this board. Re-read the 1st posts, take the advice given and stop complaining because you have not until now taken your daughters protection seriously enough no matter how you try to deny it. You have been given advice on how to so do it this time. If not real (which still seems more likely) the thread's achieved little other than to show you that if you aren't an adult WM yoruself the vast majority truly dislike unsolicited spam as much as yourself. |
Ive twice reported spammers to the us justice department. They got an online facility for it. The two campanies stop sending shit for this or other reason.

All I have to say is... Are you sure that it was the *GAP* that requested photos?

What a waste of time this bullshit is.
The posters behind this shit are either: 1. Nihilistic assholes with seriously overrated egos who think that this little microcosm GFY revolves around them. 2. Idiots with such low self esteem that they need constant attention. I spend my time busting my ass all damn day trying to make a buck not just for me, but for people who join our program. I have trouble kicking off a few posts before I head off to bed, or doing a drive by posting through out the day. I did learn though that as my post ratio dropped, my income rose and I like that formula. So it is with that I can add: #3 Sad pathetic losers who lie about their income and status in this industry. No matter how you cut it you don't win. There are always tell tale signs that it's a "character," from one of these idiots. The poster's first post is always something controversial. This is what makes the person behind the post so fucking stupid. It never starts off as "Hi I'm a wm from Oklahoma City thought I'd read the board for some tips on making money." But more like, "Hi, I just made a new site with nothing but stolen images from the usenet and you motherfuckers can't bring me down!." Anyway, I gotta go back to work...you guys just keep playing. |
As a mom of a 6 year old and a 13 year old, the question I must ask is why the heck does an 8 year old have an email address anyways?
You said she doesn't sign up for anything online so why does she need one? People might disagree with me, but the internet is NOT for children period. I don't care why kid's sites there are online, the internet is NOT kid friendly! If you must allow her one for some IMPORTANT reason, ditch the one she has now, get her a new one and YOU read her mail BEFORE she gets to see it! |

Also, if you use a small local ISP with bad security (I used to work for one), they might be subjected to blanket spams of every dial-up customer at the ISP. This is easily stopped if an ISP actually knows what they are doing and isn't operated out of some one's basement. It's pretty rare these days though. |

Just get a new email address.
I can't believe an 8 year old has there own email addy. Do you let her surf the net unsupervised? you should probably keep a close Eye on him/her just like you would'nt let them flip to show time channel late at night. Kids will do things you probably think they wouldn't very curious. I'm in the industry and I can't get off lists best thing to do is monitor your childs email and while they surf online |
hey your husband has a membership at http://www.fantasyentertainment.net and he booked an escort last week. go fuck yourself :321GFY

I know for aol you can go under the master account of aol you can block all emails except for people you list. It was a really handy feature for getting rid of all that crap in my email box. Also I think there is additional email controls in aol that might beable to help. It is sad your email was not removed and none of the people you listed cared to do anything about it.

[email protected] Why couldn't the spam start off with her supposed name? Plus if she uses any form of IM emails can be harvested off the online profiles as well (as well as the person's name if it's listed). But you're right, that's still technically revealling the child's identity onto the net |

Would you let your eight year old kid walk home at night from a friend's house three or four blocks away? No...you'd be too afraid of the child getting hit by a car, kidnapped or injured in any sense....hell you probably wouldn't let the kid walk that during the day. And why not? Because the kidnappers should know better than to try and steal a child so that automatically will make it safe? Protecting your child from harmful elements is a responsibility for parents in all aspects of the child's life. Expecting someone else to protect your kid's online life is not only naive but also irresponsible. |
I think this tread has been bullshit from the beginning.

If it's that much of a problem, change the email address.

First, understand that spammers are spammers. I have an email address that only a couple of people know about and I still get spam to it. Spammers will send out blanket spams in hopes of finding any real email addresses they can. By replying to the unsubscribe list all you have done is confirm that this is an actual live email address. Chances are they have now sold that email address to other people so the spamming has just begun. You have two real choices here. 1. set up all the filters in the email program you are using to filter out anything even remotly adult related. this should take care of any problem you have 2. call you isp, explain what happened and get her a new email address. Don't give it out to anyone who's not a family friend. Many buisnesses will sell emails to companies who then sell them to other companies and so on. The gap may have sold thier list to someone else who then sold it 5 companies and in ends up in the hands of a spammer sending adult material. I have ICQ and nothing in the ICQ info makes any reference to where I live or what I do for a living. All it is is my nickname and that's it. And yet I still get adult spam ICQ'd to me. after this do #3 3. calm down. I know you are upset but you need to understand that most of the people that make adult sites are normal people you meet everyday. With the #'s growing chances are you know someone that runs some adult sites on the side and you just don't know it. Many of them are people with kids and many of them are good, normal people. You aren't going to shut down the web, nobody is going to go to jail and a hit squad isn't going to kick this guys door in and eliminate him while he sleeps. Spammers are a very small # of people with large technical abilities. the best way to deal with them is to just use the tools at hand. Read the help files to lock down you system so you kid can't get to any adult sites and adult material can't get to your kid and problem is solved. |

Anyway... Does your kid have a profile set up? That is a very easy way for people to harvest emails. And I assume your child has never gone in a chatroom? That is another easy way to harvest emails. Now that the email is on a list, its only a matter of time before it gets on more lists. The best thing to do at this point is just get a new email addy for her. And make sure her email is not published on any school pages or any other types of web pages. And do not set up profiles for the child, and never enter chat rooms. Nothing is foolproof, or spamproof. But you can try, and when you fail just dump the email and get a new one. And JimmyReject - you have to be one of the biggest assholes I have seen in some time. What makes it so hard for you to believe this is true? And why must you give her so much shit? Hell, even if she is BSing, what harm is it doing to you? You look like a pure ass harrassing a mother of a kid just trying to get help. |
LOL..... come on guys . this is bullshit ! if she is for real and knows nothing about the porn industry cus she is so pure then how did she get on GFY.
and on the chance that this is real. Lady get over it and burn your computer. Who the hell lets a 8 year old use these things anyway. Momy look its a penis when i typed in ice cream in www.google.com :thumbsup Look i agree that shit is bad when it comes to minors and its wrong but dont think posting on GFY is gonna change the world and solve your problem... (this is why i really think this is fake) who the fuck would post crap here and expect results. :321GFY |

This is a bullshit post.
Nobody takes spam this seriously except loser anti spam crusaders. Simple fact: if this parent is such a concerned fucking parent they would simply check their kid's email box before letting the kid look throught it. Der. My kid uses my computer at home and in my office. He's never seen a lick of porn, spam or otherwise. Not once. And I'm not even that concerned a parent. |
wow, that was a lame attempt at stirring the pot.

... and if you would find out he will get a good beating ... hahaha !! |

If the spam is all for this legalnudeteens.com site, you may want to invest in an international phone call and contact the following:
[email protected] Albony Investments Limited 126 Aldersgate Street Barbican London, London EC1A 4JQ GB 44-870-160-5168 44-870-160-5168 It looks like Albony has a history either of spamming directly or hosting spammers as here are their listed abuse complaint e-mail addresses: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] You could just put a filter in your daughter's e-mail reader for that one URL, but really people like this ought to be stopped. Other contact info for the camblaster.com site which the spammer site upsells (and which looks like it may have the same owners or at least designer) is: master, dns [email protected] New Harmony Enterprises Limited 2001 Central Plaza 18 Harbour Road Wanchai, HK 00000 HK 415-723-7599 What looks like a San Francisco number with a Hong Kong address is kind of fishy, but sometimes you can make headway. New Harmony, the parent of camblaster.com, appears to get its hosting from a somewhat legit-sounding address in Los Angeles with the following contact info: [email protected] Alchemy Communications The Garland Building 1200 West Seventh Street Suite L1-100 Los Angeles, CA 90017 US 213-596-3000 fax 213-596-3004 Abuse notification e-mail addresses for alchemy.net are listed as: [email protected] [email protected] I hope some of this is helpful to you. I would also have to agree with others who mentioned that spammers can just randomly mail to possible earthlink and aol addresses. I recommend getting a more obscure e-mail provider. I personally have found earthlink's customer service to be nightmarish. Lastly, it makes no difference if all the adults in this woman's household are inveterate pornhounds. Her little girl should not have adult material forced on her and the people sending that spam to that little girl's personal e-mail should be ashamed of themselves. Sincerely, Amelia G |
