So I am thinking most people on GFY don't produce adult material anymore? Will it stop Piracy? The police don't stop crime, but they can keep it under control. Let's just do that, keep piracy under control. let it migrate, then we can deal with that. I agree that google won't let their buds in the administration let this happen, but I can still dream. If it doesn't make me one more penny, I still like the idea of owning the rights to things I create. :)

If he's right, then obviously the law has to be a lot stronger. Because sites need to be stricter about who they allow to promote them and the running of these sites can't be so loose they can ignore the request to remove content they don't own. I assume they don't own the banner. so the present laws are clearly inadequate, even Vendzilla and you admit that. The days of the Wild West online are coming to an end, whether those profiting or benefiting from it like it or not. |
Why does it have to be speak of the devil :error

I heard on the news that today is cyber Black Monday. When it's expected close to $1 billion will e spent. If any here are foolish enough to think the Governments of the Western Countries, where most of the money will be spent and where the legit companies are based. Don't point out a few exception to shoot that down.
You're deluded beyond all hope of recovery. Maybe the online spend budget is as much as $200 billion. What is that in term of it's effect on economies, tax revenue and lowering the borrowing debt? Or is it better to let the Internet lose money to sites based in Russia, Ukraine, etc? Wipe out piracy in music to a great extent and suddenly iTunes can charge double or treble. Which is more money in the pockets of the big music companies. Employing more people, spending more and paying more taxes. There will always be some piracy, but remove the vast amount we have today. = more revenue and better economies. Solace will have to move Livejasmin's pop up ads off piracy sites. :( They'll find other places that are legal to advertise on. |

It'd be nice if instead of getting all indignant over losing the "virtual freedom" to steal...people would instead turn their attention to the fact that they allow themselves to be "piss tested", be spied on with the "patriot act", watched by "security cameras" on every street, searched like criminals at the airport, be told what we can read, think, and say...you know REAL freedoms that nobody is doing shit about.
