    Shots Fired At Whitehouse

    At 9:30 p.m. Friday, police received reports of shots fired in the bustling area of 16th street and Constitution Ave.

    Authorities would later find a car in the area. The suspect had fled, but what police discovered inside the vehicle left them deeply concerned: an assault style rifle and empty shell casings.
    Already this story stinks-
    1)they find a bullet hole in a white house window
    2)in the video they show the car and an officer with an "assault style rifle"....a shotgun!

    Am i not correct, looks like a shotgun to me. In which case from 1000 feet would not hit whitehouse and more so not leave a "bullet hole"

                      If the weapon is in fact a shotgun...shot guns can fire rifled rounds and certainly can have a range of 1000 feet.

                              I did not know that, it is a possibility then. Did you watch that video clip? The one weapon they confiscated appears to be a shotgun.

                              There has been no specific mention of the bullet casings etc.

                                  Hmmm, doesn't sound right. Accuracy would greatly suffer.
                                  "Use of a smooth bore shotgun with a rifled slug or alternatively a rifled barrel shotgun with a sabot slug improves accuracy to 100 m (110 yards) or more. This is well within the range of the majority of kill shots by experienced hunters using shotguns."

                                  It is more than likely two different weapons and possibly two different shooters.

                                              That's been my experience, at about 100 yards, you get a drop of maybe 4 to 5 inches. It's a big heavy bullet thats getting a lot of wind resistance
                                              Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

                                                                              They show a very dark image of a gun but the next frame is the officer's own weapon which is a shotgun and a flashlight attached to it. That's what it looks like to me anyway.

                                                                                      Not seeing that at all. The cop is examining a shotgun while they are describing "an assault style weapon" - i don't see the flashlight. looking at about 58 seconds in.

                                                                                                              I did not speak to its accuracy at all...I spoke to the range and it will certainly travel the 1000 feet the poster mentioned...and of course the accuracy also depends upon the shooters proficiency at using "Kentucky windage". I have shot more than one rabbit at a quarter mile using a standard rim fire .22 using "Kentucky Windage". The reason I know that the range was a quarter of a mile is...the farm rows were a quarter of a mile in length...with the rabbit being at or near the end of the row.
