If you were to run a website for an amateur, including html, scripting, promotion (<- most important), updates, etc., what would be a good percentage to ask for that?
Webmaster percentage?

There are four basic positions on such a website...
1. Model
2. Photographer
3. Webmaster
4. Marketing
So, how many would you be doing, and how important do you think each of them is?

Warning ya now it is a headache and them some.
Will you be doing the photography or will she/he be sending you the stuff?
Have you dealt with her/him before, if so are they reliable?
Who is paying for the hosting?
Yeah and what gothweb said...Comment

#3 + #4, and all of them are essential... without any of them, you won't achieve anything.Originally posted by gothweb

So, you will be doing two of the four essential tasks. So your handy starting figure is 50%. I wouldn't take less.Originally posted by punkworld

I think Gotweb is being generous. If all she is gunna do is model and get someone to take the pictures 50% is not right.
Hell even the time/cost doesnt work out for that.
Just get every little tiny thing in writting. I mean everything from how much content she will provide and how often. To creative control of the site, to who can make link trades and deals, to penalties for when she flakes.Comment

Well, the idea is her taking care of the pictures and vids (made some content management software, so doing updates and such is simple as pie), maintaining an online diary, doing weekly live shows, being active on the forum and that kind of stuff.
I do design, scripting, linktrading, supporting sites (avs example sites, for instance), linklists, galleries for tgps, etc./(bb|[^b]{2})/Comment

Taking care of the photographer is beyond important. This business is about content, as much as people think it is about traffic. I guess it depends on how good the photos are, and how much content it is, exactly. If we are talking cam shows, lots of photos, and user interaction, then her cut can't be much less than half.

Lots of photos, good quality as well (her boyfriend is a pretty good photographer), good amount of vids of very decent quality.Originally posted by gothweb

I was thinking about taking some 30% after expenses for my work./(bb|[^b]{2})/Comment

Depends on what you count as expenses. Taking 30% after the biller and host makes sense to me.

That's what I had in mind (although cameras, computers, software etc are also expenses, including all these would be way too much calculation).Originally posted by gothweb

BTW, gothweb, you're a philosophy student as well right? Would you by any chance have some info on Andrew Feenberg's "Questioning Technology" to share?/(bb|[^b]{2})/Comment

You may want to consider a simpler split. Working in expenses may make it compicated. I would do one of three things...Originally posted by punkworld

1. Split the revenue 50/50 (or whatever) and just put in whatever expenses are required for each person.
2. You own the site. She gets a percentage, all expenses are yours.
3. She owns the site. You get a percentage, all expenses are hers.
Anything else is asking for disputes later on.

Oh, and I am afraid I am unfamiliar with the work you are talking about. It sounds vaguely familiar, but no details come to mind.
