Sasha has every right to volunteer to the Read Across America program with the intent of reading books to elementary school children, just as I do, just as you do, just as Bob down the street does. If they meet whatever criteria RAA and/or the school set (criminal background checks, child abuse clearances?), then they continue to have the right to read books to the little kids. Sasha Grey obviously met all of that criteria, therefore she DOES have every right to read to those children.

Of course there should be boundaries. You claiming I said "fuck the boundaries" is just reaching for straws in your argument. To disqualify someone for a legal career they once held is utter bullshit.

Whats the difference? One could make the argument that they paid their debt to society so its perfectly fine for a registered sex offender to read books to 1st graders in a public school.

Did you really just ask what the difference is between someone who engages in adult acts with other consenting adults legally and someone who committed acts on an unwilling, unconsenting, person, who may not even be of legal age?

While there may be more than 5 people in the world that can read books to kids, sadly, it seems, there is an abundance of good, wholesome, god-fearing men and women who don't care enough to take the time to volunteer for things like this. So when some who meets the guidelines set forth volunteers, she should be welcomed, regardless of her past career.

Call me retarded if you will, but I don't think it was inappropriate. If she had shown up dressed like a stripper or porn star, then it would have been inappropriate for the school to allow her in. But she didn't. She presented herself in a wholesome, completely appropriate manner. In fact, I've seen teachers dress more inappropriately on a daily basis than what Sasha did.

I don't think it was inappropriate to bring in a retired porn star, 2 years out from that line of work, who knew how to present herself in the right manner, to read to the children. And I think anyone who thinks otherwise is retarded. Am I surprised there was some outcry? No, but I think those people are, generally speaking, close-minded fools.
