Can I ask you... have you ever done anything to protect a woman's right to choose? I mean specifically. Not just posting on an internet forum I mean. Cause I have. I did fundraising for a year for Planned Parenthood and NARAL (thats National Abortion Rights Action League if you did not know) and I can tell you thats a red herring. i can tell by your tone you genuinely believe it and it's not some snarky bs comment so I dont say it to flame you but IMO you are very much mistaken. Let's be honest- if that highly unlikely scenario happened NARAL would love it, it would boost their fundraising dramatically. They would have no problems financially (even now) setting up chartered busses to go over the border to a neighboring state.
I hate to break it to you but even if you are super pro-choice that issue is very far down the list. The US is on the precipice of completely imploding economically and Dr. Paul is the only one who would genuinely do something about it. You dont seriously believe Obama gives a shit about the 99% and all the other Republicans are fascists (as is Obama actually, just different flavor of it). If you want to really understand the economic storm that is coming try reading www.zerohedge.com - the amount of toxic assets the banks are carrying on their balance sheets are HUNDREDS of Trillions. Bank of America just shifted those toxic assets to the FDIC insured side... meaning when they go belly up all BofA account holders get shafted. If you think Obama gives a shit you are delusional seriously. Like how Ron Paul complained after the CNN debate about not getting equal time and not getting a closing statement... Which of course was completely false given he got pretty much equal time except for the Perry/Romney sparring.. and there were no official closing statements which he agreed to before the debate even began... Ron Paul is no different than any other politician out there but he knows how to really work his followers. How long has he been a politician? 30 years? Let's see, for starters he gives back to the Congress the money he is allotted for his office that he does not use each year, he does not participate in the Congressional health care system because he thinks it's unfair they get a great health care system while the general public does not have it, he vows not to take the Congressional pension when he retires, never voted for a Congressional pay raise, never voted to raise taxes, did not vote for the Iraq war, never voted for an unbalanced budget. And yes.. Ron Paul is just like other politicians... A 30 year politician.. He's just "different".. But he's not some saviour... What has he accomplished? Oh. He says the federal government shouldn't have any say or be involved in the abortion issue but then votes for a ban on partial-birth abortion... twice... Of course I'm sure he justifies it in some way.. Just like any politician. Being in charge and accountable is a hell of a lot different than being a maverick where you can vote how you want and it means nothing... How many things has he voted no on because of his "ideals" in opposition to what the people he swore to represent may actually want?
