Fruity Loops

Anybody ever used Fruit Loops 3.0? HOW IN THE HELL do you make the track longer? Instead of doing 16 measures and that's it, how can I do 128 measures, then repeat?

Or say 16 on one window, 32 on another window, then 48 on another window, then repeat starting at the 16 window?

options/song settings/bar lenght

this is defined for the whole song, you can't change it for a specific pattern or use a jump command as with oldschool trackers afaik.

you need to edit the song playlist, with the on screen numpad you edit the different patterns, then use the playlist editor to put the order you want these patterns to play/repeat, you can layer several patterns too, so you can use some for the bassline and repeat them, another one for drums, etc. and mix them in the playlist.

or you can always rtfm

I think once I have this basic stuff figured out, I should be good to go. I now get how to do the different patterns, and lenght of things, beat, and all that.

How do I get "Pattern 1" and "Pattern 2 " to play at the same time, or consecuatively?

Use the playlist (F5 on my version) to select which patterns to play at which time.

Me too. I usually make drum loops with Fruity Loops and record guitar, bass, etc. with Acid.

Yah I'd assume it's with the playlist, but how specifically? I'd assume having box 1 checked on pattern 1 (first measure) and box 1 checked on pattern 2 (first measure) would play them both at once, but the only time I ACTUALLY hear the audio is when I have "Main Automation" selected.

Make sure you have it set to song, not pattern. There's a little button/switch at the top.

Other than that, I'm not sure.

Which button/switch? Within the playlist, or up near the top?

LIke what he said, its a little button for both song and pattern. Its up top, where you see the main controls. Cleary marked 'song' and 'pattern'.
