Is it illegal doing legal business with dealers?

Like if you have no exact knowledge, but it's pretty obvious, and you sell them things like rings or cars... then is that illegal?

What are you trying to ask?

If you make a private party sale to someone, regardless of their occupation, it's legal unless you're selling illegal (stolen or banned) items.

If you are selling it to them with knowledge of what they do in order to help them do what they're doing intentionally, you might get in trouble for that, but that's a major stretch.

That came to mind, but how does it apply? Aiding them to do what, exactly? Because the cars could be used in furthering their .. activities .. ? Because the rings would help them look their role and do more business?? What

If they are buying the rings or cars with drug money, then turn around and sell them. money laundering is what it is called.

You mean so they could be buying the automobiles and then turning around skipping the titles? That does not scare me a whole hell of a lot.. I guess if they pile up jewelry and then sell it and it all came from me, that would be real bad

Let's go through this question:

"Is it illegal doing legal business with dealers?" Ask Rico.

"if you have no exact knowledge, but it's pretty obvious" If you know, you have knowledge.

"and you sell them things like rings or cars... then is that illegal?" This depends upon the source of the rings and cars and your status as a business. If you are a ring or car establishment it is not likely to be illegal. Pretend for a second you are instead a meth junkie, in this case it is quite likely the goods are stolen and you are breaking more than one law.

If you have to ask, you're asking for trouble. Maybe if the FBI believes your side of the story, you won't end up in prison. Maybe the professional criminals you're dealing with won't end taking you for everything. Maybe the guy they introduce you to next isn't trigger happy. One thing is pretty certain though - if you get involved in some shit, it's gonna stink in the end. Whether the thieves end up stealing your stuff or the law is all over you or whatever, eventually we know it always goes bad.

well, if they are under investigation and being watched. then it would all be a problem. which usually happens sooner or later if they are big enough to be worth going after. and if they are buying stuff for this reason, it usually makes them big enough.

This guy can't be seriously asking this here.

Just in case: Mr Maxwell if you are serious please wise up or get out before you hurt yourself or someone around you.

Of course it's not illegal.

Last time I checked, rings and cars are not listed as controlled substances.

Are you people retarded?

If this guy is merely selling leisure items used for that purpose to known criminals then there's nothing illegal about that. It's not his job to fight crime, that's why police and DEA agents exist.

Depends on the state.. In Most you can get hammered. Just ask the SEO guys that got nailed for doing the work on a site that was selling knock offs of golf clubs.

They had to pay big.

They use this little catch phrase. " knew or should have known" thats what can fuck you.

Directly assisting in the marketing and trafficking of an illegal product like like the SEO example is a completely different situation than this guy is in.

Really? Think that company disclosed to the SEO firm that they were selling fake goods that had not been authorized by the makers?? Something tells me no since the site was selling the clubs as the real deal just for much less.

And its selective enforcement of this type of thing. He may work with them for YEARS before it ever comes back to him.

The fact is they still played a significant role in trafficking of an illegal product. Charges will get laid, it's just procedure unfortunately. But if they really didn't have knowledge that the products were counter-fit, then it would be very easy to get any charges dropped in court with a decent lawyer. We're talking about leisure items being sold that have no impetus to whatever crimes these guys are breaking... apples and oranges.

Lol something I've been wondering while watching Breaking Bad, how does a drug dealer, especially a major kingpin type one, get a lawyer? It's pretty obvious the lawyer fees are paid with illegal money, is that allowed?

I would imagine that some lawyers just want the notoriety of doing a huge case.. and most big deal guys probably have a big stack of money somewhere anyway that the feds didn't get to
