Just read that.. The man lived an amazing life. His wisdom and wit will be missed.You might not be as anonymous as you think you are. -
I wonder if he knew he was sick and that is why he decided to leave the show and he just kept it quiet or if this was just a coincidence. Either way he had a cool life at 92 years is a good run especially when you consider at 92 he was still active, bright and living a quality life.Comment

he went off on Kurt Cobain when he committed suicide, claiming young people wouldnt know what to do if they had real problems,.. like depression and vietnam war.
Ummm, hello Kurt Cobain dealt with depression his whole life, he retracted his comment because he didnt know anything about Kurt Cobain just the old hating the young.
ive never watched 60 minutes but to bash Cobain and his music is an obvious ignorance regarding music.
How many other topics did he run his mouth on without knowing a damn thing?

WW II Vets
A few years ago, there was the statement, that every day, 1,000 WW II vets died. Hard to imagine. My neighbor, the marine, at Iwo Jima. MY step-father who helped liberate Dachau. A cool guy I know, who with his wife, went back to visit his war mistress.
Hope we never have to do this again. If we do, we'll have some idiot, not FDR., nor Andy reporting.Comment

my parents loved him, i thought he was ok, sometimes funny and on point, other times just being Andy Rooney, a self parody.
had no idea he was 92 when i read he was finally retiring. the years fly by.
mostly i wondered why on earth didn't he have his barber ever trim his eyebrows, it was like he was proud of them and being old - which i guess for a cantankerous old guy makes sense.
