For the last 20 years Jimmy Saville's "interesting" sexual preferences have been a running joke. An open secret. Everything from "he liked them young" to the more unpleasant stories/rumours/allegations regarding funeral homes and indeed the Jersey cover up.
However he was also very well known for being extremely litigious. Expect to see all of this filling the tabloids over the coming days now that he is dead.

This video epitomizes attitudes towards the fiddler in 70's. Prosecutions were vary rare except for the most serious cases and convictions rarer still. Victims would be expected to give evidence in Crown Court and were usually ripped to shreds by the defense council.
