I know this is an old thread, but I just have to bump it. I have been out of the adult game for some years now, but I have a little pet-project site that I've been tinkering with lately, and in looking for an easy way to monetize it I stumbled across this thread. It cracked me up to no end, seeing everyone going "what's an avs?" ... lol back in the day AVS's were so awesome, you could throw up three or four new sites a day, get them listed in the AdultCheck or Sexkey directories, and be making sales instantly.

Ahhhh .. I know it's a cliche, but that makes me think even further back to XPics. Wow, the future was so fucking bright :) $.50 cents+ per click, and the sites were just awful. All that 80's hair (even though it was like 96).

I used to make quite some money with AVS, too bad they all dissapeared now.

I was going to give this sexkey a try, but it sucks that they dont have revshare, thats the way i made money.

paying fro free credit card signup sucks, it does not make money to the affiliate in the long term..

The secret with AVS is revshare and have your own site CLEAN of cross sales to retain members long term.

but most REVSHARE AVS died now.. AB, jans, AA, DP...

Obviously the pornking trial pays you for your signup.

Sexkey was great back in the day.. I have been thinking of ways to make money with them again using my content.

Im not sure how AVS works now... Things have changed alot.

Yeah, I do agree, back in the day I did better with the "paid" AVS's as well, that just gave affs a piece of the recurring pie. We didn't have to 'trick' em with a cross sell, the "value" of being a member of the avs was worth the $10 a month or whatever it was. Ahh the good old days.
