Ok i'm at my Mother-In-Laws house on her comp and shes runnin'

Windows XP inwhich i hate but shes asked me to restore or reformat while shes outta town but she doesnt have any disk, she says none came with the pc when she bought it..

Any ideas?

you need the disk to reformat. it came with the computer, she must have thought it was a software bundle and threw it away.

idea: tell he she needs to get over to CompUSA and buy another copy.

Install FreeBSD and X with a good WM. Dump on all the
apps she'd ever use from the ports.

She'll thank you for it in the long run, my mother did!

get a copy of Mac OS X and put that on it. that will fix the problem lickety split

She prolly bought it at some mom and pop op that gave her a pirated copy of it along with alot of other pirated software. That's the only way they can compete, so it must be okay...
