I'm not sure why the usual talking heads are complaining about the way he was treated or "executed". Look at these animals. Why would anyone expect a bunch of desert monkeys with Ak47's to do anything more civilized?
That said, he got what he deserved -- but only because of what part of the world this took place in. Western society would drag out the situation with trials and a bunch of other unnecessary bullshit.
