I update one of my blogs here and there.. And I wanted to know if using sponsor hosted rss feeds along with updating here and there would hurt SE rankings?

duplicate content isnt a penalty, its just ignored, so it wont *hurt* it, just wont be of any benefit from google

better use morphing or completely rewrite those posts, otherwise think this way: if google crawls rss post from your website earlier than from the original, your post would look like original. I've heard once about a guy whose whole posts were completely copied and copy site ranks higher than the original one.
